Hearthstone Goblins vs Gnomes: Priest Guide Arena


Priest got a lot of nice new cards, the class just gets better and better per expansion.

Shrinkmeister is a great Priest card, it got severla combos like Shadow word pain and cabal shadow priest but its also just a very solid trade suport card that makes your 3.2 surive a another 3.2 and other similar situon, giving it a strong early board card but then later you can also use it to kill e.g a 5.5 by making it a 3.5 or a stealing a 2.5 Yeti.

This makes this extremely potent, its at is absolute worst a 3.2 for 2 which is very fine for an arena card. Especially as priest need early cards. And that case is weird its ability is viable over the whole game, being able to not die when trading wit ha 5.5 onto another 5.5 etc. And that as mentioned it really combos well with some more priest cards. Its card that by default has huge value and can gain even more.

This is another strong uncommon card for priest. bascily it makes you trade really well as it boost 2 attack and 4 defence its much better then the druid buffs. Buffing health is almost always better for any class as a few extra attack is enough to kill the other minion, but for priest is obviously even better. However, the spell damage + is almost never any meaning to it. Sometimes it can really help make a holy nova good.
 But I think its like with Shrinkmeister, not on the same degree but still, its a solid card in itself and sometimes it can combo and make it even better. Like buffing a small minion attacking it into a bigger one then playing Holy Nova, killing all and healing the buffed minion.

This card is Ok in arena, for the most time its like getting a Lightwarden and healing something and Lightwarden do cost 1 mana so its not horrible. But when the effect can only e.g heal yourself to do it its hardly better then just being able to drop a lightwarden at turn 1. So its not fantastic.

The real issue with this card is more that lightwarden in itself is not that good in arena, so while this card can be argued being better then ligthwarden neither is really super awesome.

This card is far worse then Shrinkmeister thats more on how good shrinkmeister is but also points in how rarity = better. Well Shadow boxer is a ok, like I said priest do need the early card so they don't lose board control early. So having another chance for a decent 2 drop is not wrong, the effect can also be OK, but hardly have the massive potential of shrinkmeister.

Here we actually got a pretty good card, as I always reason. Mech = good. So you will get a few mechs likely and giving a mech 4 life thats a lot! Temple Enforcer gives 3 life which is enough to give great trades so 4, slightly better and it comes earlier at 5 mana instead of 6. Yes it only effects mech but its a huge number of mech on 2-4 mana that is often picked for an arena deck. And in worst case its a 5.5 for 5.

Here is the only bad card priest got for arena. It 100% useless. 1 drop with 1 life are horrible as they just die from all the mages (or rogue/druids but mages are the common adversary) her ability is also completely useless in arena as you never will be able to go for face with a priest in arena. Its not impossible but nearly so. Like Mindgames si better then this card for the most part -- but that dont' say a lot.

This on the otehr hand is a great card for priest epics, Priest always had weak epics only having Cabal Shadow Priest as a good epic pick. Now they got 2 then (as shadowbomber hardly made the epic pool better). And this is a really, really good addition for Priest. Priest biggest issue has always been the lack of AoE. So if you lose board early you are fucked. This card will safe you so many times. However, its a little weaker here then in constructed as yes it deals damage based on the minions attack. While priest usually have high health minions in arena you instead usually have just minions...so they will likely have even or maybe a 3.2 etc. So they will die.

Vol'jin is a pretty good Legendary. Better then Velen for the most part, mainly as he is so cheap and only cost 5 mana. Makes him be playable in most situation before the game is over. His ability to give any opponent minion only 2 life is really strong and he himself is often at least a 6.4 for 5 after the ability been used.

Hes kinda like a early Mind Control you remove their biggest minion by getting your own minion with a lot HP if the have something big out.

Judgment Priest: Goblins vs Gnomes
 Priest is clearly better now. All their class card except Shadowbomber are good for the arena deck. Light of naruu is not particularly strong either I guess. But the others are strong minions and a massive aoe card that priest really needed. So a lot better I would say.
