Marvel Avengers Alliance PvP Season 23 Recap

So first of all I want to discuss the buffer to get a sure Adamantium. Its one of those thing that I talk to people a lot that contact me but it was also very, very important for me this season.
I got this new const ult/free lance type of work right now (half way done so very short) but the effect of that is of course less time to play this game when I fly, move into a a new place etc. All of that but also new time zone and working just before this season ended. When this was over at Tuesday I got home when at the last hours of the tournament, which for example could been seen with my quick shady ant man review. So just back at that time when everyone is playing like crazy and the servers are crashing pretty much all the time so I could barely play anything.

It could be worse but that is clearly a pretty bad time.

The solution is of course what I have talked about earlier to have a Buffer, but I want to cover it again. The way I reach adamantium safely, was to play myself up to 2000+ at Sunday. Then I would keep maintaining at least that before Tuesday. At Monday I did go for another 300 point or so and then when I woke up at Tuesday I had only lost like 100 points, played another 5 games, got to around 2250 and then returning from work. I had only last around 200 points, being at 2000+ safely away from the border.

The reason is simple is not all about just having a lot of points to lose, but the higher up you are the less you get attacked. Especially its a huge difference being very close to 1550 where people will attack like crazy trying to pass the border, from being at 1650, my guess is that you get attacked at least 5 times as much from at 1550 compared to 1650. And then being at like 2000+ you barely get attacked at all. So the more buffer you get not only does it mean you literally has to lose more points to fall under but you also lose less points, double positive effect. This is why the buffer is such an easy way to get up.
It also means you don't have to relay on your defence, I don't have very high armor bonus now, I haven't updated it for like 3 seasons or so. I have missed to level a lot of characters as with my job and so forth. So my defence is weaker and weaker. But getting a high buffer just 2 days before means I will get almost no attacks on me. This means my defence ratio don't matter. Simple as that.

Ok so this season showed 1 new team which I really would recommend I guess even do I only lost to it once, the Rocket Raccoon based teams. Its because those teams are based on luck, and straight forward wining by high damage. Either you win fast or you lose, the less time a defence team is planned to take as it reduces the chance the AI will fuck up.
High chance of something lucky to happen has always been a very strong part of a good defence team. If they get lucky they do this eternal follow up combo, which I would definitely argue is bugged but w.e

So how does it work then. First of all its several different version of this team and it kinda blends in with the Star-Lord teams. So it has several variation, the 2 commons one is Spider-Man Noir or Union Jack with Rocket Raccoon. The effect is actually nothing new, Union Jack actually used to be super strong with the agent using the Demon set back when he was new. Agent would use the Hot shot which stun effect was counted as a 100% chance for a follow up attack on all enemies the stun in itself was not 100% but even if they avoid the attack the stun follow up attack would always trigger and this would cause Union Jack to shoot at them just like he does with  Rocket, just that it was better. A 100% chance lol,,,it was freaking awesome. I wrote about it like 2.5 years ago.

Now how this team works is that Rocket shoots a lot right, and its a follow up attack and so on. And this can trigger UJ to shoot at each character with a Single Target attack. Its the exact same thing with Noir as he is just a copy of UJ. And while I enjoyed seeing him in action I really don't see why anyone would use him over UJ. Sure he might have a slight higher chance to follow up but otherwise he is still shit and hes passive is useless. Except Quicksilver in the whole game pretty much. And even then I thought about this a lot and this is also why his passive suck so much.
Its actually just worse that its a 100% chance vs stealth. Yes he hard counters Nightcrawler that no one plays but QS, can just use his other moves then namely his third move. Yes its not as good as his first but why would a player that run into Noir+Rocket use the stealth attack. It would be better if it was a chance so people might gamble and go into it. That is why is so much worse then UJ with his chance to preemptively all normal moves or for that matter new Spider-Man 2099, who has the UJ passive instead of Noir with his only vs Stealth Shit.

All tht being said is also a lot about the weakness of this team. And of course its Emma Frost;) She pretty much auto counter these guys so easily. Thanks to her Diamonds are forever she can tank these follow up forever so just like vs Quicksilver and Star-Lord or QS, psylocke etc follow up don't work on her. + For w.e reason people are using a lot of Blaster Rocket....which of course is an auto lose vs Emma(+ I use Magneto so really easy to win) for that matter now with the new QS suit Star-Lord and him, that team was clearly played a lot more and...why do people use Blaster QS. Such an easy win. Scrapper is obviously way safer. Blaster for Defence is always a huge liability. So was also a general weakness of a lot of the Rocket teams. But another weakness is that if one of them die, even te agent as he/she has to use her items to also further increase te chance the team is extremely weaker. This makes it weak vs for example Emma then with her Psychic tap. But also just a general reason why Union Jack > Spider-Man Noir. Kill of Rocket and Noir is utterly useless his attacks are all absolute crap. UJ can at least set up the agent and of course his passive is way better so he might win alone 1v1 while there is no chance Noir is gonna do anything alone.
I kinda like this follow up team, as it really covers the good factors for a defence team. But as they go for really high attack its also really easy to kill 1 of them. DO not AoE vs this team and just focus on single out one fast, preferably Rocket and the team has auto lost as soon as he dies as without the whole wombo combo they are horrible on their own. Any of the variation they all suck as soon as 1 character has died. A Glaring Weakness.

No the best defence team, excluding super high stated players with Molly(which is still by far the most scary thing to face). Was clearly Pestilence and Enchantress.

I really enjoyed how while Nul and Kuurth is forever to be popular it seems. The higher you get in rating the less you face them, around the border they are like 90% of the teams but at 2000+ they where around 10%. Then the most popular team by far is Pest+Enh. Which you will face in at least 50% of the battles.
I already covered this team but its so strong with high defence oriented players who have used money to get the super high health and defence so I wanna go on a little on that again plus I had a realization why this is finally a team that is actually good that includes Pestilence.

But first of all I just want to note how I find it strange, that Enchantress is only popular among the highest stats players. When she is literately the best character in the game when you have low stats. Her damage comes from dots so just like Emma she can always be played as its % damage. Her 2 other moves make the opponent attack each other so its their attack that matters not yours, which is perfect if you got low stats. But what we see instead is that she is only played by people with huge stats.

That reason for that is quite obvious using the Iso on her that gives her health back per magic attack heals her for about 30% max life each turn and 10% more then on each counter as Tactician are commonly used. This means when you have really high health hand she gets like 4k Hp on each moves....man she is hard to kill. And when for example in my case Magneto does like 4.5k hp to her on a normal attack. She only loses 500 health lol.

And of course as she don't need high attack to deal high damage she can go full on evasion, defence, health iso(spry) as attack on her is almost meaningless. Yes it do boost the emerald wave which is actually a very strong attack but the other 3 abilities are 0% boosted by more attack so just going for complete defence oriented is way better. This also of course combos will by doing the same with Pestilence.

Shes is so hard to kill really with really high, evasion and defence she barely take any damage and heal herself. Sure again she is weak vs Emma so that is the salvation but if you get into like any other character except Emma or the Agent with her in a 1v1 you are fucked. Even a 2v1 can be really hard. Only team I ever really lost to even do I had Emma(well Magneto was just a minus I guess).

Of course I already talked a lot about how amazing she is in her review and she is rated just below Emma in the total rankings pointing out how ridiculous overpowered she is.

But I thought about this specific team a lot as I was facing it all the time.
And I have a further analyzation on why specifically this works so well. Obviously they are a great a team. But I have always pointed out how really bad pestilence actually is and teams like Rulk+Pest have always sucked. Kill Pestilence and you have won.

The problem with all those teams are that they are build around Pestilence and trying to make him work but it just does not work out in most battles. He is simply to slow and not worth spending 1 character slot to support his debuffs and tank for him. Especially as you cant tank in this game people will just kill him and its over. Completely useless with Rulk or Nul etc.

The HUUUUGE difference with Pestilence x Enchantress is that HE IS THE SUPPORT.

Its kinda obvious now when I have realized it. But he is the one supporting the uber strong enchantress. She is amazing in a 3v3 and in a 1v1 and by having Pestilence that makes so you cant remove all her dots and mind debuffs she becomes even stronger. The team is not build around him for once, its build around her. So that is why it works is the only Pestilence team that is not focused on carrying him.
And even while she is the main power, you cant kill her first for 2 reasons. Pestilence has to die before to many turns go that is still true and she heals herself like crazy. Of course the result is the same you kill him fast but then you are left with this super strong character. You are not left to face the crap support for him but the real power in that team. So its actually a huge, a huge difference in the core strength of the teams.

I don't think people have thought about this that much as they just natural match so well. But that is why he finally has a good team, because he is not the star of the team.

Probably by far the worst team to face. I mean I lose to it a few times and I use the hardest counter with Emma, who counters both of them.

So that is definitely a team that more people should test out.

Now my hope is yet again that we see some spider teams that works.
Spider-man 2099 looks to be a strictly better version then Ultimate, that power creep lol each spider better then other it seems. His move 2, better then ultimate on all accounts. Have the strained on his first attack, better finisher and better team attack. Also his passive seems to happen ALL the time. His weak point passive, will trigger pretty much from anything that moves it seems. While that is not the best debuff to have a constant refresh of weak point(attack will critical) is quite the damage boost.

Marvel Avengers Alliance: Best Team PvP Season 23. Guide for best characters for PvP. Review Ant Man

Ant Man, who really cares honestly. I just got back from work so I haven't really had much time to do anything with this game today and so on and that's why I played myself yesterday to 2200+ so I could be safe now when I got back, only dropped to 2050 over the day.

And during this season I have yet to see a single Ant Man, hes crap. Hes Hank Pym again with some minor alteration and Hank Pym is a very weak character.

His first ability is a single target attack that deal moderate damage and has the pain train debuff. Simply said pain train sucks. Means it does very little the first 2 times its used as it becomes more and more debuff for each time. Compared to the  Ghost Rider DoT effect train instead its really bad as getting 3 dots in is way better then 3 weak debuffs. That is an issue overall with pain train the last debuff is clearly not worth it.

Then his second ability is horrible. It does zero damage but do some ok, debuffs and cant be blocked. However, there is a lot of better moves that do damage and with similar debuffs. Or why not do no damage but really nasty debuffs. I think this move should be a Quick Action is on that kind of level of move. If it was it would be a pretty good move now instead its really weak.

Then his ultimate is similar just a very weak damage move that cant be blocked but gives the opponent grounded(who cares) and disadvantage(reverse class bonus) disadvantage is a great debuff but a whole move to do this to 1 target is horrible. Truly horrible. This move should have been AoE and dealt more damage to make him viable.

Clearly all these 3 ability are way under performing,

Lastly his third ability finisher and actually quite strong. Hes only good move. Its just pure damage but it easily do high damage.

His passive is good, quite good, he has a revive and gets back with full life. This seems to be 100% once per game so its actually very strong. He is also immune to ants,,,,and can do a self coordinate on target with his type of debuffs. Not very good.
The revive thing is clearly playable pretty much his only redeeming thing.

2/10. He is Hank Pym with a better passive.

Marvel Avengers Alliance: Best Team PvP Season 23. Guide for best characters for PvP. Review Spider-Man Noir

First of all I am sitting here on a really bad laptop as I just got a new job so I wont update the tier list for now. Of the new characters, Spider-Man Noir, Ant Man and I guess Hyperion(I got him pretty fast). Hyperion is the best by far. He is actually very solid. Ant Man is near useless as Hank Pym and Noir is another Spider-man clone who brings nothing to the game except counter Stealth guys. For example Gwen who just got released looks much more interesting with her aoe quick action webbing that will support her team a lot.

I don,t think its much to really say about Spider-Man Noir. He is like most other Spider-Man characters not very strong. I went over this with the absolute worst of them Ultimate Spider-man as the base of them all are normal 616 Peter Parker Spider-man of course they will suck as hes been a bad character for over 2 years.

Spider-man Noir is not a very good character. First of all hes extremely unoriginal. Like the other Spider character he has pretty much the exact type of set up. First a single target attack that adds webbed and + debuff, in his case its flanked. Which is pretty good, better then for example Spider-Gwen with exhausted.
Like all other he has a finish move but I honestly don't know why they put him with so many finisher its like he has 3 type of finisher or 1 weak build up and 2 finisher which is really redundant. Because of this his passive becomes really important to determine his strength as he wont beat Spider-man or Superior(or what I can see right now Gwen or Girl) with those pretty crappy skills.

So first of all he has one finisher which like the other spiders(excluding superior) is improved if the target is webbed, this means he kinda needs more spiders to be good. Quite obvious. One thing that I been reflecting over about this and why all of them kinda suck is how webbing just add more debuffs up to 3 times instead of also stacking as a damage effect, to my knowledge at least having a higher webbing effect does not increase this finisher damage and that would be a huge improvement for the spider team ups.
Then his ultimate also is a finisher..and his third is a set up. So he needs to set up with 1 then 3 then 4. And the second is useless? I honestly don't get the point of him having such a redundant set of skills. His passive counter is also a completely other 5th ability so it does not set up either of his finisher.

But its not like the other Spiders really have any good abilities for that matter. To measure Noir is then to look at his passive. I talked about this in my last article. He has a very similar feel to Union Jack. He only preemptively counter certain attacks and when he does its quite the strong counter. Its in fact a formidable high damage preemptively move.
However,,,,,,,,,,,,,,it only does it towards Stealth!!!

Its really fucked up if you ask me. It should be 100% to always preemptively counter Stealth and a chance to counter normal attacks. Right now its 100% vs stealth so yes, he is really good vs for example Quicksilver and in general against character who has only stealth moves like Nightcrawler, Invisible women etc and infiltrator if they get their class buff. So....actually he should have been a Tactician and not a Generalist just so he could give the infiltrator their buff.
This passive is then really, really good vs specific characters and otherwise 100% useless vs anyone else. Really weird and clunky passive.

He also has a self coordination passive like many other characters, namely Union Jack. Did I mention hes like Spider-man fusion Union Jack. Yeah hes extremely unoriginal.

Lastly he also has the chance to avoid attack like Spider-man and ultimate spider-man because of this he is quite better then Superior Spider-man who for whatever reason lacks the spider sense. But otherwise he is really uninteresting to play with. He basically does nothing then any other Spider-man cant do except then that he will own any Stealth character. Which in this current meta means he at least counters the Star-Lord X Quicksilver team.

Pretty bad character and very unoriginal a 3/10.

Marvel Avengers Allience PvP Tier List Season 22. Guide for best characters for PvP

Its realy nothing to say just like last season all new characters are bad. Deahtlok did land at land at rank 23 and hes a pretty good character but the rest are so useless that nothing will happen.

Its one thing that people go with what they now and refuse to change away from shit teams like Nul X Kuurth but a big reason why that will not happen, is becasue how Playdom refuses to add any new flare into the games meta. Like I mentioned a while back the game has gone into a reverse power creeping. Its like the new characters aim is to be weaker then the last. This season I have concluded scores on characters two with 0/10 and one with 1/10, really bad design.
The effect of that is crystal clear. The games pvp will say the same like it has for the last 4-5 season or so. The only new really good character has been Enchantress in like half a year or so but I would definitely say shes also the most complicated character to play in the game and the result is that the game is completely stale. As I wrote in on of my spider-man article I would love to see these news spiderverse characters be really strong and having to play against a bunch of different spider teams to get something new in the game but so far they have all been very, very weak so it wont happen.

Marvel Avengers Alliance: Best Team PvP Season 22. Guide for best characters for PvP. Review Quake

Quake

Quake like many other characters are kinda pointless so far in the game. Thats about it to be said about her. She is not very strong and again a character that is extremely limited. Go and read on different forums etc for comments about her.

You will find pretty much the exact same comments everywhere, "oh shes really good with Avalanche"

Shes very, very limited to only being playable with Avalanche or other ground users, well actually she is about "sonic attacks" so like Blackbolt + ground users. However, that is not rue eitehr. I think a lot of people will com e to the conclusion that she is good with ground users especially Avalhance but the truth is that not all ground attacks are sonic, while Avalanche is like that, others are not. For example Captain Britannia's ground attack is just ground and not sonic and wont help Quake. I am not saying that Captain Britannia is a good cahracter and its such a big shame you cant use him with her but it clearly show how extremely limited she is and even when new ground users will come to the game they necessarily wont synergies with her. With the electric users that can help for example Victor Mancha each electric attack helps him so at least he has more potential.

I went and checked on all ground users and Colossus does not use sonic. Neither does Power Man/Nul. Sandman does not, not Groot, not Gorgon, not Crystal. The only character in the fucking game that uses ground and sonic is Avalanche!

She is more limited then the warrior 3.

She does boost ground damage with her debuffs on her abilities so she is still better of with other ground users but its only 1 of them that actually uses sonic attacks so herself she gains no boost from their attacks. Which wont trigger her passive then. SO yeah she can only be played with either a none-ground user Blackbolt or 1 specific ground users. Horrible to say the least.

However, I will say that shes a decent character ignoring her useless synergy.

But with shit passives then. Her first passive is that she can avoid ranged attacks, which is just a bad misdirection or other avoid abilities but its worse then as it only avoids range and she don't do anything when she dodged.

The second passive si then that she gets rising up sometimes when people use sonic abilities. And she needs those 4 base bufs to make her ultimate useful. Its a finisher ability that gets the extra damage per stat buff on her. But she cant gain buffs otherwise, its only through this passive as its only dam Avalanche that uses sonic and herself she is pretty much limited to having a team with only him. Well one can use another character that can buff instead like Heimdall or something and just ignore the whole sonic issue. The sonic passive is crap to as its just a chance and rising up in itself buffs 1-4 buffs so if it only happens once that likely wont get all the 4 buffs.
All together she got utter crap passives and that is of course horrible when all good characters got a loads of amazing passives + good abilities. Her 1-3 ability is decent and she got no passives not much to say really shes complexly useless.

Only good thing with her is that her first attack adds flanked + extra ground damage etc. And as shes a Tactician she can do that against a Blaster and then attack again thats pretty much it.

She also got this aftershock debuff which is a good debuff it adds damage to the enemies when they attack and its quite strong but its clearly just a weaker version of mental tap.

And that is a classic issue in this game even what you serve up the character's every need they are not good anyway. This is an issue a lot of character has even when they get the perfect team up they still kinda suck.
In this case she has to be with Avalanche for any real synergies and then shes is quite strong. But just quite, take in Emma Frost instead and you get a better team. This clearly sound stupid but it is how it is. Emma x Avalanche is at least twice as strong as Quake x Avalanche even do Emma has no synergy with him, she is just so much better then Quake even when Quake gets her one and only team mate.

0/10. Shes absolutely pointless, even with her one and only team up shes not amazing so why ever play her?

Marvel Avengers Alliance: Best Team PvP Season 22. Guide for best characters for PvP. Review Ultimate Spider-Man

 Ultimate Spider-Man

He really does not stand out to me at all, ignoring that he can't attack mech enemies which is really annoying in pve.
Just seems like hes kinda pointless, like his comic. I don't wanna go into to much Morales as Spider-Man. But just comparing it to the last article character I wrote about, Superior Spider-Man that was a great comic story, its really, really good if you like Spider-Man you should go and read it. There they really went and wrote something interesting about another person with Spider powers.

Ultimate Spider-man(the second one then) its just Peter Parker with another skin color. That is what it is. I just wanna say sucked. I do not mind Spider-Man not being white, well Superior was still white soooo, good?
That is really not the issue with Morales that hes a Latino. The issue is they just gave him pretty much the exact same personality as Peter Parker and you know living condition, etc its all pretty much the same story. So instead of writing something interesting in this alt universe that is the Ultimate they just went and made Peter Parker be a Latino, but they want to push it like its something incredible they have come up with.  Well the comic did not sell so well so clearly it was a blunder where with a few years later they instead went with the Superior story and that one is just so much better. Superior Spider-Man has that Absolute justice, the hard justice so to speak which gives him another ethical view on how to solve crimes. Where Morales as I mentioned just has like to 99% the exact same ethical / moral w.e standpoint as the standard Peter Parker, it was just so meaningless.
There has been other Spider-"Mans" in other universe before Spiderverse but yeah there its a lot of them. But most of them don't really get so much screen time but before that we had for example Spider-Women in Exiles which was Mary Jane being bitten instead, of course now we have the Spider-Gwen from Spider-Verse that is kinda like that MJ story I suppose, but MJ was also a lesbian and she did fall in love with the female alt version of Sunfire in the exile team and then they died and stuff. Yes ok the Exile storyline are sometime hard to follow especially out of context to the main 616 but it was a very good storyline, and vastly more interesting then just a Peter Parker but not white. I am not saying they should have gone all the way so to speak with the MJ version who was I would guess maybe a little to much extreme for the more mainstream comic of Ultimate ( I would guess that was on of their concerns) but couldn't Morales be more unique? In every scene of him in Spiderverse story we had him, in my onion just as a young Peter Parker 616. Really pointless. For example Old man Spider(I think that was his name) he uses bullets in his web shooters and like he and Superior Spider-Man discuss he is willing to kill. Why wouldent Ultimate Spider-Man be something else then just young Peter again.
Note that I am not saying that it would be automatically better if for example Morales was a flamboyant gay person, the major difference is how Doctor Octopus trying to be good person with spider powers, which creates a story with way different view of life, on relationship on work etc and of course on how to save people and the city. Its a very interesting perspective and change from the standard Peter Parker, if Morales then for example was gay I am sure they still would have just have him have with the exact same personality and that would also be boring and pointless. It would just be him saving a male version of MJ/Gwen(not saving I guess) instead. Thats not what I want to read in those, "What if" Scenarios especially the ones that have a several issues on it. Because the other standard What If are just 1 single comic and then it can be they can go with massive changes or slight changes but a series it should be meaningful if its a alternative to 616 version.(Yes I am full aware that Superior was in 616 which I would say just made it all the better)
Also the brand new day storyline kinda made Peter go back to being a kid again. It reversed a lot of the years and it sucked. And in the context to Morales ergo the death of Ultimate Peter Parker is that not just also a go back time to teenage years which they had just then done a few years prior with 616.

Rant over but I do think it actually also affects Marvel Avengers Alliance because when I look at Ultimate Spider-Man in the game hes just Spider-Man. Same Passive, some other web attack and some bio attack with like aoe stun instead of the single target stun Spider-Man has.....they are 2 very similar in game characters. And I guess that Playdom actually did a very correct design as the writers of the original comics pretty much just did a young Peter Parker with him so the game character should just be a slightly updated version of the old Spider-Man we already have.

And right away there we can conclude that hes pretty bad. That is just very glaringly obvious if you ask me. As Spider-Man by far is not the best character. He was actually the best character in the game season 1! No joke Spider-man + Human Torch was the best team in the beginning of this game. But the problem is that since then he got a nerfed not hard nerfed but a little either so some kind of middle ground nerf  guess, but his real issue comes from the easy way to removes buffs etc and other items like the passive evasion from the Cube and so on. Basically Spider-Man has become more and more useless for every season of the game. And then we get this cahracter which do not have the remover weakness but otherwise is kinda the same character(just like in the comics) so yeah he is gonna be a bad character and yet again like I wrote about Superior-Spider-Man another character which unfortunately will have zero effect on the game.

Like I said in the last article and have said for like the last 3-4 recaps I would love some changes. Get some characters that really shakes the pvp up. So to release a cahracter which is almost the exact same a clearly a bottom character, that will do nothing.

Lets go into his abilities then.

Like all otehr Spider-Man he does use the webbing debuffs(and also some symbiots), if anything then he should be played with the incoming masses of spiders.

He do have the exact same passive Peter has, the avoid chance + chance to cover even aoe attacks. And because of this him and Peter is the best team for him by far. Then you get 2 person with webbing attacks + potentially agent with the old webbing weapons And they will both occasionally cover attacks, occasionally avoid everything etc. They can actually be kinda good.
However, this is suuuuuuper weak. Because you cant block psychic attacks from example Emma you cant block catastrophic attacks from example Magneto, this is one of the reasons why Original Spider-Man is worse and worse Catastrophic attacks are more common today well he was the hard Counter to Emma but the nerf on him exactly hit on that strength so yeah...and Morales don't have the evasion +++ ability he only has the random avoid passive actually making him overly have worse passives to then Spier-Man with a Suit. Which makes him really, really crappy. Hes an new character which is just a worse weaker version of an already established character that if you are using him already got isos for him. Looking at the passive there is 0% reason to change spiders. They can still work together but they are just good vs specific teams. Actually they are pretty good against Nul and Kuurth as both of them are based on attacking and if e.g Nul misses no meteors, so going to Adam with 2 Spiders in attack should not be hard.
However, Nul do have grounded attack. Which cant be blocked I have beaten Nul with Ultimate in pvp easily as he can avoid most of the meteor stacks but still the game has more grounded attacks, just like more catastrophic more stealth(which is hardly used anymore but still) etc. Tanking simply sucks. Its worse for characters like Captain America where the protect can easily be removed as well. But even for passive tanks its a for the most part a horrible game plan. Tanking died out in season 4. 2 + years ago. And then that Ultimate is a worse tank then 616 that its not very useful.

616 Passive > Ultimate Passive > Superior Spider-Man

But its better then the crap of Superior who just counters and does not even avoid.

However, and this is a big however. I don't want to compare to much to Superior I mainly wanted to again remind of much his passive sucks. But his primary attack the one he uses to counter with its way better then Ultimate is.
All the spiders counter with their first ability.

And Ultimate just does webbing, man is that bad. Its just does webbing!!! That is so bad. Superior also does webbing but it at least has Fumble on it. And that is still pretty bad but he counters all moves(except stealth and psychic and so on) so he spreads that around easily that helps other characters possible otehr spiders to spread webbing. Now Normal 616 Peter also just does webbing but it has exploit webbing..yes a lot of webbing. But if you then combo Peter + Dock ok they are gonna counter all the time from the fumble then hes gonna do extra damage from the otehr spiders webbing or his own etc.
Basically Ultimate is shit. Why does he only have the webbing and nothing else it makes zero fucking sense and the game is going into some kind of reverse power creeping where the last 6 or so characters are just weaker then the character before it. Its utter crap that is primary attack, the one he will use for counters, follow ups etc only does the specific spider debuff. Which also then limits him even more to be only played with other spiders. The fumble is not fantastic but its usable for all characters not just other spiders.
But evne then ignoring Superior, it  just really retarded how the vanilla our 616 already owned(I guess most have him by far) Spider-Man got something extra on is primary attack. If you did not get Ultiamte at the Special Operation why use a lot of gold to get him when you can just get the better classic Spider-Man really.

And this I say already before I even go into his other 3 abilities, which I will say at least are a little better. Spider-Man always had a weak offense he was just good with his passives.

Oh wait when people say that they usually include his really good second ability spider sense.

Spider sense gives 616 double the evasion and he can evade everything for 1 turn easily. Which makes him tanking so good. Ultimate don't have this....so yeah. Hes a copy but he lacks the uber evasion, so hes just gonna get hit a lot. While Spider-Mans 3 and 4th ability are pretty bad a major reason why hes not a top character as he do have good passives but he cant do much except not dieing. Ultimate does have a more 2 useful attacks, but I would rather have the evasion x 2 + the aoe tanking then just aoe tanking and maybe evade. Clearly spider-man was designed with this boost to the evasion in mind and not having tat makes it just pure luck if he avoids by his chance to cloak. Making his passive be way more unreliable then the 616.

Instead of the evasion + he got a debuff move as a second ability which is ok Its a stealth move and it can stun them by incapacitation(which counts as stun for exploit effects) and and a dot and new debuff/dot hat drains Stamina. Draining Stamina is of course 100% useless in pvp so ignore it. I guess it might come more in handy for a double spider-man team as the game takes longer, none of them dieing so fast and no one doing any damage. But for a pvp player with decent stat is wont matter at all n 99/100 games. A pretty bad move.

His third ability then...is yet again just a fucking worse version then 616. Its literally the exact same type of attack with the same type of set up just that it does less damage. Meaning that just like the first ability its a worse version then what the standard spider-man has so again its 616 > Ultimate.

It exploits stun webbing and has high crits so its a finishing move after setting up the debuffs. 616 also exploits webbing but instead of exploiting stun he just have a 100% critical chance instead if they are webbed. Which means he will deal higher damage at average and its much easier to set up as you got a freaking webbing team right. + It deals higher base damage by like 50% So its actually does way more damage and is much, much easier to set up. Like Spider A counters, then 616 can right away use the finish move on that opponent having the 100% crit and hit + bonus exploit damage here Ultimate first need to set up the stun as well. And I mentioned this that he has an incapacitation debuff which is better then having just stun as that will go away after the character has been stunned right away. So its hard, its just simply hard to set up stun exploit easier with the incapacitation but still bad probably the worst exploit in the game. And then it also don't have the 100% crit. Its just worse  then 616 on every level. Especially in how its easy for 616 to counter and then right away at turn 1 do the finisher, he cna do that easily. Ultimate can half ass finish with not stun.

616 third ability "Finisher" > Ultimate third ability "Finisher"

The ultimate ability is the only thing that ultimate spider-man has that is worth something(which is good as we call it an ultimate:). Its aoe stun that does pretty much zero damage but it always stun everyone. It also does critical to 100% for w.e reason as it still does no damage and it can be blocked because as mentioned tanks sucks.
Normal 616 only has a single target attack that does very low damage(higher then this but still insignificant low)  and a chance to stun. So that is a crap ability Peter has and have always been a let down with him. This move however, also stuns Morales....and many people use stun immune on the characters, I for example always go with a stun immune agent so he can save the others if they are stunned. Stunning is outdated.by far. And you cant combo this with his third as he get self stunned by the kick like a mule debuff. So yeah still pretty bad only reason its better for once then 616 is because 616 has like the worst ultimate in the game, no joke 616 could very well have the worst in the game. Its no very hard to beat not the absolute worst.

0/10. The standard Spider-Man is 10x better only reason you might consider using Ultimate is to do a spider theme but I would for example rather use Spider-Man Noir(he looks way better) even Superior even do he is also weak.

Marvel Avengers Alliance: Best Team PvP Season 22. Guide for best characters for PvP. Review Superior Spider-Man

 Superior Spider-Man

I liked is comic a lot. Really a lot and all of the side comics like superior team-up was great as well. Except Superior Carnage that story really sucked. And it was really fun to see Superior Spider-Man be in Spiderverse with our Peter Parker ignoring the obvious time paradox. Overall I found Superior way better then the standard Spider-Man comics both before and after in modern times. So yeah go and read those ones, got me back into reading Spider-man well at least I followed that then as soon as its Peter again, it become kinda meh again.

First lets talks bout his Superior Counter.

Its really sad that his lecture counter does nothing...I think that is such a bad design why don't it add something like weak mind? Or some other debuff, impaired /weakened perhaps. A big missed opportunity. Superior already got weird none combos with himself like bleeding and ravage on one move, webbing  fumbling, fatal blow? and then turning of tech moves? I am gonna go into his abilities more but  I mean really Playdom, superior Spider-man hits all over the place with hit stuff. His passive could have added something that would help fucking pure psychic users and it would make sense on his overall design, would impaired be better. Yes absolutely but he could go with weak mind in how the animation and the comic storyline was. But now its just a dam time waste. I really dislike this passive as its just like most of Deadpool's its just means the battle take more time, fun the first 5 times then it just becomes nauseating.

So its a completely useless time wasting passive that just makes the use of playing him decrease in value.

His other passive is a typical, well his Tactician but not really. We can find it on Black Widow etc. So its Counter on all attacks like other Spider-mens are Infiltrator so they counters stuff but he still does that even do he is a Tactician.

Its really as shitty lack of passives. Look at all the best characters i teh game, for example Magneto which is you cant avoid, you cant counter and I will premetive conter half your attacks. War, team gets more damage and accuecy, go past blocks, self heal, self increase of damage etc. Like Emma has her remove all debuffs and give you 25% more total stats and then she has her really good attacks. Molly is obviously all about her endless second turn but she is also stun immune which is like one of the best passives ever in a turn based game where losing a turn is the biggest deal and gaining turns are also the best. Emma also can save anyone from loing turn to stun or incapation etc. So shes kinda like 70% stun immune for the team + evertything one of the reason she is soo good. But all that is just their passives.

Superior Spider-man got bad attacks and really bad passives. He don't even have the counter + stealth which would be exactly like Black Widow but if anything he should have the avoid/stealth thing with the spider sense so it really makes no sense.

Why does he not have spider sense? I honestly do get it. See in the Story he even made better use of the Spider sense then Peter comboing in that with his spider robots that would cover the city after crime and incoming danger and stuff. So if anything he should have spider sense + preemptive counter.

Why cant they understand that they would also sell more if the character was actually good.
New characters need to be competitive,. now I will just put Superior on the shelf after I leveled him, which I really dislike as I really liked him as a character. SO obviously if you ask me if you need to use gold or real money to get him, DO NOT. Hes one of the weakest addition in a long time. I haven't even gone into his abilities in detail but yeah they are also pretty bad.

I am not fan of power creeping but the new characters has to be competitive to some degree. This is really one of my favorite comic limited issues marvel has done, probably my all time favorite Spider-man issues actually and they just fuck it up in this game. There is likely not a chance in hell I will play with him in pvp. That is simple sad. I would love to mix up the teams and go with like a full Spider-Man theme. I like Spiderverse except the very end of it. But apparently that is to much to ask to even make him bearable. Hes not even close to better characters in the game.  All his abilities are very mediocre and they don't fit together.

First of all hes NOT a toolbox. Its important ot note that he is not a toolbox! A shallow analyze of him might give someone that idea but he does not counter anyone, hes abilities are a bunch of crap that does not stop anyone except the ultimate but that means he counters tech users and noting else so far from a real toolbox character and the rest of his moves are then pretty shit.
You look at Superior and none of his moves make any sense to the other one. So that first screams toolbox but because they are all bad, its just bad. Compare him to for example my review before this Deathlok. Deathlok counters sheild users, he counters stat buff users, he can also turn of extra turns and he reduces accuracy and evasion. Thats a lot of tools that are useful. Superior Spider-Man adds bleeding so that might counter heavy turn users like Molly, Quicksilver etc. But his bleeding thing is interesting but very unreliable its a 0-3 bleed stack + maybe ravaged. Its a new debuff that is pretty bad. But sometimes really strong. Basically it has huge distribution range in damage. Then his first move does fumble that counters no one really. It also does 1 stack of weebing that eventually he can get in I suppose not really countering anyone.

His ultimate is a bleeding based but its  an aoe ultimate so it does not even combo good with his third attack. As that attack is on a single target and likely wont add up to many stacks of bleeding, concluding that he needs another bleeder in his team and that is just bad. As bleeding team sucks. Means the agent also needs to be a bleeder and so on. I have written about this several times bleeding teams are extremely weak and vulnerable. Also no other bleeder has the webbed debuff so he cant combo that on the same time, well I guess one of the many incoming spiders might team up well with him on this regard.

So the only real utility he has that is good is the tech blocker hi ultimate has. This is actually a decent thing but not good in the current meta and clearly not enough to be a good character. As the other thing just don't match together, as they are all over the place with no agenda, no direction.
The ultimate would combo way better if it was single target bleeding exploit as other character has, the effect now is that it might deal moderate to high damage on one character and then low damage to the two others. The fatal blow likewise don't really make any sense as he cant hard focus a character. having Fatal blow is always good but its been nerfed and its not that strong just a mediocre finisher now days. Then his primary attack deals fumble and weebing that is decent, fumble is ok to spread around he does counter all normal attacks always so he does spread that easily. I think thats the best part with Superior Spider-Man, it makes everyone then counter the person he first countered.

1/10. The only Playdom got right with Superior Spider-Man is that hes a tactician and not an infiltrator. Other then that I would also like to see his robot..way more and his henchman come on give him some real passives.

Marvel Avengers Alliance: Best Team PvP Season 22. Guide for best characters for PvP. Review Deathlok

Deathlok, the cyborg warrior from the future. This follows the traditional pvp with Deadpool and Cable, and later the X-Force which he also was in for a short while. Makes senses but his main passive is really bad for pvp, I really don't like that. I want pvp reward heroes to be actually good in pvp.

Well I do find Deathlok pretty decent, hes a good anti toolbox type of character but its main ability is his constant data debuff but it takes a lot of time to put on the enemies. So its basically useless until turn 3+. Way to slow for pvp. And its truly only really effective until like turn 5+ or more which is of course incredible useless in pvp. Where many games is over at turn 1 most at turn 2. Some teams aim at turn 3, so to get a passive that does noting until a long time has passed, really does not fit pvp at all. And this data stacking debuff is the only real unique thing with Deathlok the rest is just rehash of older characters.

Anyway how does it work then.

Each time an enemy attacks Deathlok puts a debuf on them. This debuff does not do any damage etc it just slightly reduces their accuracy and evasion he also puts this debuff on enemies when they counter and stuff, its quite unclear honestly what he should and should not put data it does not follow what the in game text say it should do. So that is in his favor he can simply put it out more then what perhaps he is intended to do.

Its noteworthy to point out that it really does not do much, 1 data debuff only reduces the stats very little so it has almost no bearing at all, very insignificant. However, it seems to be stack forever. It does to have a limit at least not where it matters on the enemies stats. So when you get to 10 stats or so they really lose 100% of their accuracy!

This is huge, they literally cant hit. And all attacks you will do are 100% critical as they got no evasion. Less evasion in the game equals to more chance to be critical (less in comparison to opponents accuracy), so at zero they always get critical hit.  Deathlok do become amazing if the game takes enough time... and if they cant remove debuffs.

But people likely can remove it and the game most certainly wont take so long time. But sure he is really good in Theory.  I used him on all the bosses in the last SO and on Karn and he was really good there sometimes when the game took a little while and I want to make sure all characters end the boss battle with full hp etc to get a better score all the bosses will miss 100% after a few turns so.

The general issue as well is that accuracy and evasion does matter the in the game as you avoid stuff anyway from passive effects like the cube or you miss even if you should have 100% hit chance when they are polarized etc because of stuff like the cube. Lowering their attack would have more of an immediate effect even if its only 1-2 stacks. They really have to get like 6-7 stacks until it really is noticeable and the game is likely over by then.

Then he has another typical passive being immune to a few stuff like Bleeding, low crit chance on him(he got the machine type of passive - but not immune to psychic abilities;/), not really a big game changer.

The abilities he has are however good, I wouldent say great but depending on the meta they could be very good.

What he has is basically a way to remove different type of abilities to the opponent which does fit with his data debuff that reduces stats as well then.
Well his first ability is just an attack. It actually does nothing. No Debuffs etc just pure damage but it does more daamge on the number of data they have.
Its very strong late game and decent early game, so not particular good for pvp.

But the other then are just anti something.

First of his third ability is a good quick action. It does no damage but it gives the opponent target exhausted(cant get extra turns) and neutralize(cant get extra stat buffs)
This helps him vs Tactician who otherwise would gain an extra turn from his attacks or when they attack him and as he got 2 aoe moves especially the ultimate you very likely will use being ale to turn of their tactician before doing an aoe is really solid.
Its comparable to Havok, Havok instead got an AoE attack that does exhaustion and turns of all the tactician and is then safe from his class counter. Deathlok can only do it to 1 so a lot worse if its 3 Tactician but instead he got it as a Quick action so its a lot better if the opponent only has 1 tactician. It also turns of stat buffs which means Deathlok just counters Bruisers harder. Not that big of deal really, its more that this debuff can be used on most games still to remove buffs from the agents cube, or other similar buffs which are not related to a Bruiser. In the end of the day, using this QA move on an Agent is always good, removing them from gaining more turns and general buffs. So even if they do not have a Tactician it will usually at least reduce their agent potential.

If it was a normal attack I wold say it was pretty weak but as a QA to be able to do that, is always quite good as opponent agent should have at least some QA items you can stop.

His second ability is an AoE attack that removes shield and have sheild breaker so they cant apply new shield. Not the biggest thing in the game except characters who are very based around their shields like Invisible women and Rescue.

His ultimate then instead removes all general buffs and has Boon Buster so it does decent damage if you do it when they have just put on a lot of stuff. What it means is that not only does he removes a just buffed team from like Probability field but also does decent damage to them.
This is pretty much Deathlok he hard counters characters like Dr.Strange who uses a mix of Heal/shield as he can remove both. Its an AoE removal so just like with Gambit it can really fuck it up for those characters who are all about buffing, healing etc.

So for example if Rescue was super popular again Deathlok would rule the pvp offense hard countering her and other similar defensive characters. Hes very good against all of the slow planning team or more then 1 reason. First he counters their abilities, this also include other healers like Colossus Po5 etc. But also that he counters them by his data stacking the longer the game is the more the data passive is gonna make a difference. As a result hes super hard counters all the slow defense oriented teams.

But as I mentioned earlier his biggest problem really comes from that those teams are rarely used anymore. In the games current meta he does not have much to remove. There is the occasional Invisible Women team and sure hes great then but the rest of the games he is just gonna be a slow, very slow character to get his effect in.

6/10. Ok design, a little to much remix from other characters but hes also limited to not doing anything himself except just countering others so that makes him really not be very playable.

Quality Maniac: World of Warcraft, Get a clue - bugged quest and the solution

So one of the new quest in tannan jungle which is to help Reshad, an Arakkoa (bird allies) who were evil in the burning crusade expansion and most of them are still evil in this, well the holy birds are all evil and now the fel/dark birds are evil so the dark birds are good? Also the time frame for them being cursed and falling down seems to have happen in the past like ages ago, but its also happens right now? Well we are looking for Iskar in this quest and I have read his lore and he was wing clipped and dropped down quit recently but its other birds falling down for w.e reason during the quest line i Arak Spire just saying, that time-line is kinda..weird.

Anyway, Iskar was the leader of the arakkoa fallen tribe guys while Reshad is the constant quest giver and guide. Now we are to find Iskar and this quest, Get a Clue is bugged.

Its really bugged its progression can stop at any time when doing it, its really annoying it also gives a lot of Rep so for my Hunter it took a lot of redoing until I finally got it so she could get the reputation to unlock the navy ship.

This is a know bug I found it on wow forums etc and no reason to have to handle it except abandoning the quest redoing etc. Its actually not solved by reloging or turning of wow, the bnet client etc that does not seem to help at all.

Heres how it looks, the player is looking for clues and they cant pick it up.

I would not be writing about this bug unless I had something new to offer, I like finding bugs but this is really the first time I write about a know bug to say.

But I solved it!!!

I find what the issue was, because I know how to test games. So I kept redoing it with my Hunter to see what would cause it.

I might be bugged from other things as well as I read it might just fuck up if you join a raid etc.
But I think my clue to how it works is the real reason probably for most of those other comment anyway.

And what it is its very simple.

The quest will bug if your inventory is full!

This is something I run into all the time, its no wonder this happened to my character and I assume for rest of the players who get it bugged anyway.

I tested picking up all the clues with full inventory and not full and it will bug 100% for me when its full even do its not an actual item that is picked up. So it shouldn't even be affected by inventory but it clearly is.
Worse so its that I tried on each clue to bug it by having full inventory and then removing an item so I would know not have full inventory and being able to "pick it up". This does not work. If the game once fail to pick up any of the clue, you are fucked. You will have to abandon it and do it from the beginning.
And because many players probably go around like me with full or nearly full inventory all the time each time they re start it, it will bug or maybe then they will have like 1 slot get the first clue and then they will have picked something up, likely just trash they auto loot but they loot bodies to hope to get an awesome item. And because of this they can go and get 1-2 clues but as its a lot of mobs and I mean a lot of mobs at this place they will likely all the time get new trash items that fill up their inventory and  then bugging the quest at any given clue, which also leads to more confusion on why it happens.  Quite the annoying little bugger.

Anime Review: Parasyte "Kiseijuu: Sei no Kakuritsu"

Ok this is gonna be my first anime review. I watch a lot of anime read a lot of manga. Usually I don't feel like writing up big reviews and stuff not because I don't like to talk about this but because writing about games its way more fun, I guess I like the probability aspect of analyzing games actually for the most part and the technology parts sometimes. And of course how to understand the players in a game. A series is far less interesting but this really rubbed me the wrong way.

So Parasyte is a show about a guy who gets is hand eaten by a parasyte and it replaces his right hand and call it self Migi as its on his right side. Most other Parasytes have taken over human head and are then in control of the body and go around and eat people.
The main character pretty much does nothing so it really is far from a shounen main character, it has to die like 100+ people in his surrounding until he starts to do anything. The best part with the whole anime is that its Aya Hirano doing the voice of Migi and I am big Aya Hirano fan and even knowing its her doing the voice I have a heard time hearing its her so she did that really well. Also the whole interaction between Shinichi(MC) and his hand Migi(second MC) was clearly the best part of the anime.

It definitely remind me Midori Days about a guy who gets a girl on his right hand. And is actually pretty decent anime. Mainly as it does not try to be something its not its just a comedy.

I did think Parasyte started of really well but it just became worse and worse and the worst part was that when I was reading a lot of the comment about it per episode must people seemed to love it...I can only say those people are likely blinded by the Blood and Gore. I found people acting the exactly same with Elfen Lied back in the days when it was new, just because its super bloody and "mature" people for get it almost had zero plot and really uninteresting characters. When I look at peoples view om parasyte its the same thing... "OH its soo good because X in his life died". Or "omg its so deep".

No its trying to be deep but actually is in an extreme shallow way pushing on philosophical points a huge issue with Parasyte, is the that villains the Parasyte in the end of the show start to pretend they have some kind of cause and that humans are wrong but nothing at all in the show ever shows any Parasyte ever working towards that. So it really is not motivated what so ever.

I found it almost disturbing how easy it seems to create depth by just throwing in some stuff at the end or the overall view that a show which is gore focused and has a lot of death is automatically deeper then other shows.  So this is why I am gonna talk about some of the huge number of plot holes and otherwise faulty characters in this anime.

Then SPOILERS (gonna spoil most of the show so warning)

Ok so I did think the part when his Mother died was really good. The flashback about her burning herself was great and how she then dies of course where he thought she would be safe from any danger, which was kinda the MCs fault and then he gets "killed" by her and then has to go and kill her for revenge. This was really good so the show was not only bad.
However it was so expected, the main character had zero motivation before to do anything with his new powers so it was clear something would shake him up to make him change a little and maybe do anything with all the rampage murders around him.

And is here when it all went to hell.

After his mother's death storyline was over the story just became worse and worse.
This was especially bad since when he got "killed" by his mother he showed a massive resolve to kill all parasytes and later after returning to his home after saving his dad (only person he ever saved from a parasyte his other save was his GF from a human,,,which he did extremely poorly being first trapped in the small space between houses, after having several battles one would think he would better to not fall for such an obvious trap) he was determined to get ride of all parasytes and save humanity. Of course he instead does nothing when the next parasyte comes, his school friends got maimed in front of is GF..and he still manage to get a few more killed next to the parasyte. And even after this he never starts hunting or trying to stop parasytes...so yeah that massive resolve with even a new hairdo was completely pointless and seemed forgotten.

The main character was really all over the place and his action almost never made any sense when looking at them at a detail plan, yet he is claimed to now think like the parasyte logical..but no not at all. He trust a new Parasyte send by his known enemy right away after promising to kill them all, he trust the P.I which he just met to not tell anyone about him, he knows the weakness of the Parasyte at the Purge raid and can help people yet he just sits there. Really he does fucking nothing for the most pat of the story but just simply telling the cops in the end about stuff in general would save both cops and civilian lives and he still would not be ave to fight personally he would also eliminate more Parasytes overall which is good as they want to kill him. He never took any logical decision even do the story constantly says hes is now a machine who cant cry, he is now beyond humanity. I guess beyond humanity means being really stupid, as the parasytes while claimed to be far smarter then humans for the most part and more logical(its extremely heavy implied that being cold and with no emotion is far better for all decision making), always end up doing really horrible decisions.

If anything really his issue is that he does not do anything, he just sits and hope shit wont hit the fan. Every time he expect it will and well of course it does, and more people get killed. He is one of the worst main characters I have ever seen when it comes to his chance of saving anyone in his vicinity.

The stupidity of pretty much all characters were definitely a huge let down for the anime. Its like many horror movies I guess all characters has to be complete utter retards to get killed. However, the cops, the monsters, the main character, his friends etc all are really, really stupid.

And don't get me started on the people on the streets just wow.

I don't remember this guy name as he was just random rapist number 34. I read a reddit tread a week back or so about what anime got the worst civilians. Parasyte definitely ranks high. Another major plot hole is that apparently almost every person on the streets is a mugger/gang criminal/rapist or all the above. In the beginning if the series when its more humans and less monster fighting we get to learn that except the main character Shinichi, pretty much all other boys (he is the only boy in the story  all others are girls or grown up, well or monsters), are all serious criminals who just spend all their days fighting and trying to gang rape girls. As these guys are all faded out in the story(very standard) Shinichi is after ep 10 or so the only young male in the whole anime. until the last episode when he accidentally walks into 2 guys on the street and they force him to to beg on his knees for forgivingness while one of them stamp on his head...in broad daylight in the middle of a busy street.
I mean honestly, the author most have a  really low view of ordinary humans especially teenage males, he couldn't drop the storyline that all humans are crap so first 2 new teenagers that appears after 10+ episodes are of course also willing to do anything to anyone they just met.

This whole idea is so utter ridicules and a horrible way to portray the story it was just a joke how much these thugs all the time wanna fight him, his friend, try to rape his GF or fight other people like the Parasyte.

Kana is actually the only character I could get behind in this part of the story. Yes she also got herself killed in a really stupid way. Running toward a monster because she thought it was Shinichi even when he had told her multiply times she shouldn't do that and even told her about Parasyte.

But, it made SENSE. Her stupidity is the only stupidity that actually makes perfect sense, she can feel Parasytes around her with the wave length thing (the story never explains this at all, we have te mass murder who does it from what he believes being a true human(animal) but why can Kana do it...). So she think they are made for each other.  Her getting herself killed was complete fine as it was build up she was retardedly in love with him and was 100% sure  they were absolute soul mate.
This was good storytelling as it was build up for several episodes that she believed this and whatever he said she wouldent listen. All other characters especially the Parasytes however lack of intelligence is never explained they are just epically bad at whatever they are doing.

Like this character Yuko. Been a while since I hated a character so much in an anime. Her actions are the worst logical lacking ever + the story is sooooooooooo badly written. I don't know what is worse her actions that I am 100% sure no one ever would be stupid enough to do or the aftermath where she just wanders around like nothing happened the story never for once goes back to her what she did or how she reflects about it. Its horrible, truly horrible written. The score for this anime is absolutely lowered by at least -1 from her subplot as it was just complete pretended it never happened.

What happens that she figures out her new classmate is a parasyte (a parasyte Shinichi is well aware of but does nothing as he is one of the most selfish mcs ever). She is smitten by this guy and follows him around, sees his face get smashes in by a baseball, she him change face, see him threaten people etc.
She by far know something is off about him, her brother happens to a be cop and like her likes drawing so he draw portrait for the police investigation. Her brother is involved in the Parasyte hunt and she spots his drawing of Shinichi's mother's murderer.
Here any reasonable person would put 1 and 1 together and get that that guy is a fucking monster,. Note she has seem him change his face completely all aspect of its

And its here the the story goes really stupid. She confronts her brother and he decides to tell her everything about her the Parasytes and he emphasize and how much they need to caught a live one. Clearly she should fucking  tell him. BUT NOOO she instead decides to ask the person she should be 100% sure is not a human and simply beg him to stop killing humans at the highest floor of the school alone in a dark room.....

THIS is just so fucking stupid, she does it in the absolute worst way possible. Its disgustingly bad written, not only is her actions super dangerous for herself which would stop most from doing it, she has no way to know he will listen to her so better tell her brother from that perspective. She could have confronted him with a lot of people or with her teachers etc w.e why alone at the worst place at the school, just asking to get killed.
Lastly why in gods name did she not leave any note or anything its such a bad story. For example I sometimes play the game Salem where you are supposed to investigate otehr players and find what type of character they are one of those classic find out who is in your team or not. In Salem a lot of characters can kill you if you visit them, but you can always write a note. E.G today I am visiting player 1, if I die he was the culprit.
If the show just showed her for a split second writing a note in her room it would be so much better. If nothing happens she can easily remove it, if she killed off(which she would expect) her brother can easily find it later and then he would know who the killer is. Nope, she just goes to get herself killed.

But she ends up hurting the Parasyte with some acid this is also never explained what it was and why it worked so well, could be good to tell the cops or something. She finds a bottle of something in a schools art room (so it most be pretty easy to manufacture) and its like the biggest weakness the Parasytes ever has in the story it is of course never used again..
Anyway instead of wining over him she just makes him lose control. And gets 17 of her school buddies killed...where most of them saw a corridor filled with blood and body parts she also ad to jump out from the highest floor into tree to survive from the freakish monster she just meet.

And here the story is even worse then her actions. She is just supposed to be a normal teenager with a pretty normal life, family, friends etc. And kinda introvert personality. AND she is now responsible for 17 of her friends getting killed of and teacher students getting whacked of, her school closing down for some time. Herself taking a lot of damage from the massive fall and her being attacked and fighting this monster.

And.....this seems to have zero effect on her. The MC who has lost his hearth and cant cry anymore reflects on stuff constantly, she is shown to be the exact same person after this. Not like she has much story but she is in several small dialogs next to the mc and his GF or her talking with the GF etc. She is the exact same person nothing changed.  We are never seen her coming over any type of grief having killed of so many people. Never seen her with any real injuries. No no she can just sit at school and talk about stuff like murder and the things that happened with no emotional effect at all.

Yuko Tachikawa is one of the worst anime characters I have ever seen.

Overall most of the character are really badly written, the only characters I liked was the mother and father, which were both really good characters. The mother dies and so does his father storyline as well who is not in the story after that either unfortunate. I used to like Migi but the more I think about this anime the less I do. Because Migi is so heavily emphasized being really smart always doing amazing strategy plans in battle, knowing everything etc. Yet he cant do plan for anything long term. Face it Migi was a really stupid character outside battle, which does not make sense as the Parasyte are supposed to be really smart, much smarter then humans. Instead they are all really stupid and not in just their lack of understanding humans but how they act in everything. The anime ended on such a crap ending and this is mainly from how bad the Parasytes do anything.

And thats the 2 last major issues in the story, the lack of explanation of Parasytes and their actions. As they never do anything smart. The lack of Parasyte effectual plans really undermines the extremely forced ending.

Crap ending, it seems the mangaka just went all the way around to not having to come up with a real plot for why the parasyte existed. The story suddenly try twist it into something like, world is dieing or world is to much humans. So it goes the make room make room idea, which the movie Soylent Green is based on. Which the book did better then the book and that its we are way to many humans so its gonna be super crowded in the future. The characters like Gotou kinda pushed that on suddenly at like the 2-3 last eps and before they had been talking about pollution and stuff but that also kinda came later in the story.

A massive issue is that Migi has no idea of why they exist, especially not vs over crowding after the talk in the later episode he does talk about pollution which is of course how they defeat Gotou. The main issue is that it seems just some parasyte come to this conclusion so its not at all a consensus that this is why they are doing stuff.
And don't give me the, "stop human" like a good plot point, first of all the parasyte did horrible job killing humans. They would just aimlessly kill and eat humans and not at all target any specific humans to stop pollutions. Or for that matter why not take over more humans in high places? Take over the president and so on, they really did a poor job for either invading earth(if they were aliens) or stopping pollution if they were some type of anti thesis to humans. Regardless on why they are doing it they are doing it wrong.

This is really a huge, huge fail in the storyline. Suddenly after 60-70% or so of the story the Parasyte group in Japan want to stop pollution? Or they feel they can kill human for its so many w.e something like that they cant really make up their mind of their goal it seems. But its said 100 of times in the story that they have zero moral. They have zero feelings they are willing to do anything for survival and later then for the cause, the one with the major. Which also made no sense, as yes these 50 or so Parasyte have banded together out the story so far.
Migi's standpoint is that self-perseverance in any animal especially for him and all other Parasytes is their only true motivation, well for anything really, its the strongest force in the universe and the only true righteous one. Killing anyone for saving oneself is always right and so on. So suddenly these 50 are willing to die for others? This makes zero sense as they are just goons not the story important Parasyte like Ryōko who do have seem to be more and more human. But these guys are supposed to be the more ruthless Parasyte doing anything or their survival. However, at the raid they are then suddenly willing to die for the others to let them escape. As their species cant reproduce either their willing to die is utterly stupid not just as a complete turn in personality but also in how if they have some big plan they need to stay alive its not like they can become more.

Another problem is of course that its implied there were aliens in the majority of the story, having a directive, falling from the sky etc. Its mainly later the protect earth comes in to place. IF they are aliens..so not from the earth and as they cant reproduce they are just bio weapons to wreck havoc on the planet. Overall they really are a typical First wave type of alien attack where they send in beings that can create distrust between humans. This would clearly void all the talk about the environment.  Another reason why the story should have explained if they truly were from earth as now we are left with just an ambiguous explanation to why the exist and aliens seems to be the most likely. Given their actions until the end raid.

Regardless the reason they exit they really did it bad, why not conduct mass murder against humans, why not use weapons. They are supposed to be willing to do anything. Yet they can just go around killing 1 human at a time for almost no effect of w.e goal they have. They are truly horrible at what they should be doing, without knowing as a watcher what these evil guys are supposed to do I know they are failing at it, really failing.

There is even one scene when Migi would read up on guns. They know guns exist they can use them they figure out they can kill easily with a good hit. The humans later uses shotguns for great effect destroying their bodies as Parasyte are only strong where their body parts are.
Its quite retarded that not a single parasyte would use firearms or other type of weapons. Its really ridiculous as they got no morals, they are supposed to alway do the most effective way to win. Yet not 1 of them ever think of the great idea to bring a gun to a knife fight.

They are having these knife fights all the time, I am not saying a gun would automatically win. But why not when this fight is happening take out a hand gun or preferably something with more fire power and shoot at the other Parasytes body. "Bam" while its busy defending your knife attack you kill its body. Or at least injure it so its easier to kill it with the knife duel fight.  Especially the main character as they are 2 persons the Parasyte and the human intact should by far use firearms and other weapons they kill a Parasyte with a fucking stone but cant fathom to use guns? And it makes even less sense as Migi clearly studied fire arms there...just wow they are so bad at fighting.

Its not just the gun lack, they never use traps except fighting in woods/corridors etc. What about actually planing a trap ahead. Migi is supposed to be super smart and get all human stuff, knowing Gotou is chasing them why not build an actual trap? Once in the whole anime they drop a car at him...that made no fucking sense. The chance of being able to drop the car at the exact location with the time frame, given the speed etc. It was like the worst kind of trap he could come up with. + the damage would just be a blast force trauma which wont work vs Gotou's body why not make a trap to seal his movement instead.

Gotou is like 5 or more Parasytes in the same body(its 5 before and more later I guess, 6 at least in the last battle).
It is mentioned its hard to maintain the form but...why don't more try to do this. Yet again a power thing that makes no sense. SO ok you can fuse? The second Parasyte they face in like episode 2 already suggest this and yet only Gotou and his buddies are doing it. Why not have someone else with like 2 parts or something at least. Not as good as Gotou but at least someone tried to power up except him.

Gotou action also heavily undermines the story. He talks about pollution, man are evil etc. OK so what is your plan big guy? His plan is to fight? Enjoy fighting? He becomes some kind of monster that just travels around for a good challenge said by himself and Migi. Yet he gives speeches about saving the Earth. His actions are so extremely inefficient for saving the planet. He also could have saved the Mayor and most of his Parasyte friends if they had just fought the humans. Overall the Purge raid battle was a joke in the Parasyte perspective they would have it 100 times easier just fighting the humans head on. And if Gotou would have helped instead of letting everyone die just so he could then win alone...alone vs all afterwards easily. He could have saved his kind. His actions are utterly stupid.  More so when he claims to both live for fighting but has to somewhat justify killing as humans are evil.
This is what I call really bad writing. Its a way for the author to force, really force feed philosophical point with no bearing on the character that actually says it. Basically a dog could have walked in the last page and said the authors view of the wold and it would make more sense as the dog at least wouldent have been doing the opposite of what it said it believed in for several episodes.

Lastly the other massive miss is the Mayor, where the story had a chance to explain shit.

It really dropped the ball where the mayor was just killed of without us getting his plans, there it could have been explained what the parasyte in general was planing with the earth and why not only in Japan but the rest of them lay low after the purge. Instead the Mayor's action was really stupid. He could just have walked out..he could just have left the dam building instead he spend time getting a lot of parasyte killed and instead of escaping he goes so he can make a speech?
For who? It was like 8 people who saw that speech if he truly believed in the cause he have do so much more then is life then sacrificing himself for that speech it was so pointless. He could have done so much more alive. And when he died it was another plot hole drop, ok hes human someone says and its 1 second of "ooh shet" expression on the cops and then its never mentioned again..just WTF.
Is not someone like the main character gonna talk about this, reflect over this. Why did a human ally with them? Gotou drops one line to Shinichi, it goes something like yes he was a special man. OK thanks that explains the story and the character motives.
And this is really bad in every possible way. Its not a good way to set a mysterious plot open for debate. No its just lazy writing, Bam shock he was human. And then not being able to explain it reasonably in anyway why he was human. It also made the Parasyte action make so dam little sense. They are supposed to always strife for survival and die for a human? A human that could just leave. Yes it was a shock he was a human as it makes zero fucking sense and not giving an explanation to it just cemented bad story.
Also...its never explained how he started working with the parasytes. A huge blunder the whole government story.

Then it was of course all of other just overall plot holes most of them had to do with Ryōko. First of all she gets a kid, and she seems to invoke more humans emotion and stuff. But its so many plot holes with her.

She is said to be the smartest of them all, she seems to be behind the Mayor plot line and she was the one who come up with the Gotou idea(which is not entirely true the story we viewers have seen as already parasyte 2 had that idea...). She basically knows a lot still just goes and die before the raid never explains her motivation at all etc. I can live with that she stopped being as rational when she got a baby and become more of a human. But her powers and all other motivation are never explained.

Already at her first appearance she as a better morph(image above) um OK?  So Migi says oh we cannot beat her shes way stronger then us. And then Migi wonders on how she can do those moves etc.

And of course this is completely dropped to ever being mentioned again. There is never any other Parasyte that can do this. Ryōko and Shinichi never fights so its never shown what those power can do etc its just completely ignored while it was presented like a major plot point when she first appeared as she as seemingly so strong that even as Shinichi knew she was at his school endangering his friends he could do nothing as she is so strong. (however that was also him being extremely inactive as always so..)
She later does kill 3 Parasyte alone with some kind of split ability with ease killing them. Also then of course never explained. So she has at least 2 other powers no one else has.

Basically she is the strongest parasyte by far excluding Gotou, but ends up being killed by mare human with guns...

This is from her storyline being all over  the place as well. She got like 20 different motivations and her story is really badly implanted into the story as she kinda goes in and out of the story. But to do this we as a viewer need to see more from her side so we get what is happening, we do a little but just a little and she is just extremely irrational across the story as whole. She is extremely inconsistent in her powers (level) and what her agenda is.

Her whole death also was really stupid. So she is surrounded by some humans...ok she is shown to be vastly superior then other Parasyte not like she couldn't just run away, jump away from them etc. Yes she was protecting the baby with her morph hair power(that only she has for whatever reason) and it supposed to look really beautiful and deep.

But is utter shit. That plan is retarded, she can run fast jump high etc. She can avoid the bullets while protecting her baby with her metal hair. Just because she sacrificed herself for her baby does not make it a good scene, I completely honestly thought the scene was really crap, as the why she did it was so weak. Not saying that it couldn't end the same but simply running towards Shinichi with the baby while being gunned down would make 1000000x more sense.

Exact same scene but more cops and cops with real fire arms and not just hand guns. They shoot at her with assault rifles etc. She could survive this if she did not care about the baby but she decide to move as best as she can towards Shinichi while using most of her powers to defend the baby.
That would have made fucking sense. Not having like 5 cops shooting at her with weak handguns and she as slow as possible take every bullet on purpose.

One can argue that she died so her baby could have a normal life, but she wanted the baby to be raised by Shinichi so her action does not make sense in that regard either. Excluding the fact she could have just given the baby to him with no cops there...or do it at a later date. Not that complicated. Secondly she is supposed to by far be the smartest character in series she most have known he would not being able to keep the baby, she is smart enough to get how social service work and foster care, adoption etc.

Given that, if her plan was just to get the baby into the system she could have just left the baby earlier. Or even just approaching the cops given it to them and maker her escape. Not matter how I looked at it, her actions was really stupid, her obsession with Shinichi is the only thing that make sense. But that story never really goes anywhere either even do its get the P.I involved we never get to see her reflect on the results and so forth so its just really badly written together as a whole story. Its way to one sided and her involvement is way to scattered.

Otherwise I kinda liked her character but her death wow, what a let down. Like I said its not that she died is how it made zero sense even if she wanted to die, which I guess it the only reasonable thing to assume the baby survival chance was still lowered by her just moving slowly forward. Her moving quickly forward standing in the way between Shinichi and the cops giving him the baby and then drawing their fire away from the baby while blocking with her hair would been way better then what she did.
Just that she just moved and did not even try to morph her body to better protect the baby was stupid. This scene could have been so much better, so much better.

See I get the novel idea here, the story focused on a mother love for her child earlier as well. So it is supposed to be this really nice way to show that parasyte also can get feelings and care about their kin.
But its just makes no sense, not her motivation but how it happens. She could easily have survived and taken the baby with her(which also makes more sense then dieing to give the baby a new life she can do that without dieing...) that overall would be so much higher chance for it to survive.
Like I mentioned the police force simple looked like a joke to take her on. The concept is there but its really badly done. We also never get to see what happens with the baby, it would make sense to have it in the last episode as half it was just filler of nothingnesses..

The last episode also to not surprise drops a huge plot hole, a very wide hole.

An overall issue was also the classic overly focus on Japan its some kind of major changes across the globe and its like mentioned 2-3 times that "people talk on the net" and then in end all parasyte not in Japan simply just stopped because the Japanese ones got killed of,,,very weak writing.

This is something that its common from Japanese authors their complete disregard of anything outside Japan, USA is mentioned once as the only country ever mentioned in the anime of course they are mentioned in a classic racist hint to USA being an evil warmonger nation. And I really man racist comment it was 100% racism towards Americans.

But even more so it was such a blatant narrowed minded ending. Japan's major group of parasyte was killed of, ergo all other parasyte in all other countries also gave up. Just woooot? Just because Japan is now saved all is saved, saving Japan automatically is the answer to the world invasion.
Normally I wouldent care about some mangaka dislike for none Japanese but I think its actually so obvious from all the early hate towards teenagers and "street people". Like who dies for the most part? Females who get picked up by male Parasyte while our mc faces both female and males its not one scene where any female parasyte tricks a man.
SO female sluts get killed ok, all young males are douchebag rapist. Americans are probably the cause at least they are worse then aliens after all they are Americans. Solving Japan problem - saves the Americans and the rest of w.e countries that exist.(seems the author hates a lot of people I guess)

Also then the major plot hole of that now suddenly they can all eat normal meat.
There was always a major pot hole why they were killing humans in the first place when it was explained by Migi and later Ryoko that they could eat other flesh to sustain. And it really never made any sense anyway why they would specifically need human flesh over cow flesh.

And here the environmental forced philosophical gets thrown out of the widow right way again. Because suddenly they all care about just survival? So they where not there to kill humans or save the planet...ok then. What was the dam overall plot then? How is adopting and just living like humans gonna save the planet? This is as massive plot hole, the last episode was just silly we get this mass murder human who further points at what is a human and humans are evil bla bla, ok but these so called salvation are just living the evil human life so ..well w.e then.

However, the bigger plot hole here is something that irritated me from episode 1. Given that their main objective is to be alive, they say they want to kill humans for w.e reason, which they never do in good anyway so that is clearly also a massive issue in the story yes you eat human sometimes but you could kill so many o much faster then hunting them down 1 and 1.
The only real consistent in the series is that they do anything for self-perseverance. If this is what is important, why hunt human in the first place it makes no sense. They can just eat normal human food and take zero risk in life. As soon as they understand how the world works, money etc. They should just take control of a decently wealthy person and then just live. Hunting humans to eat is just a 100% pointless risk they are taking because they got some kind of directive but its proven with Migi, with Ryoko, with Gotou etc that directive is not something they will follow + then in the end they all just decide do to care about it anymore as its to dangerous. If that directive did not matter so much to them, from the start they should be less and less inclined to hunt humans, yet most of them are mindless killers to the end.

And one cant motivate that form the save the planet bullshit as they all decided in the end to not care about that.

Yeah this series had so many faults, it was so extremely shallow and the  "depth" it had was just blasted in from no where in the latter episodes but then 100% ignored in the last episode.

The good thing with this anime is clearly, the animation in itself. Madhouse does a  great job with the overall quality and the manga who is old and pretty badly drawn is clearly way worse then the anime adaption.
The story was also great in the beginning excluding that all people seems to be crazy thugs, the first like 10 or so episode was pretty solid.
However, after that its clearly to me the author had no idea where the with the story. The sex scene for example with Shinichi and Murano was just kinda thrown in there. Out of nowhere they have sex, this shows the story was not at all planned a head.  Suddenly the evil are good in the end but then the good guys(parasyte) are lazy so they go evil? The whole ending was just, well let pretend nothing of these Parasyte ever happened anywhere derp the end. Same with completely trying to ignore any explanation on what the things are instead a lot of not very well thought was given out, to just make it look interesting but really shallow.
That to me if anything just showed it was a really bad anime instead of being able to explain stuff they just throw in more confusion to make it "open ended".

3/10 - Extremely inconsistent characters, story plots just dropped constantly and ridiculously stupid villains, while they are claimed to be really smart and 100% ruthless, why did not anyone just take the leader of the country and use mass destruction weapons to kill humans.
