Marvel Avengers Alliance: Best Team PvP Season 22. Guide for best characters for PvP. Review Deathlok

Deathlok, the cyborg warrior from the future. This follows the traditional pvp with Deadpool and Cable, and later the X-Force which he also was in for a short while. Makes senses but his main passive is really bad for pvp, I really don't like that. I want pvp reward heroes to be actually good in pvp.

Well I do find Deathlok pretty decent, hes a good anti toolbox type of character but its main ability is his constant data debuff but it takes a lot of time to put on the enemies. So its basically useless until turn 3+. Way to slow for pvp. And its truly only really effective until like turn 5+ or more which is of course incredible useless in pvp. Where many games is over at turn 1 most at turn 2. Some teams aim at turn 3, so to get a passive that does noting until a long time has passed, really does not fit pvp at all. And this data stacking debuff is the only real unique thing with Deathlok the rest is just rehash of older characters.

Anyway how does it work then.

Each time an enemy attacks Deathlok puts a debuf on them. This debuff does not do any damage etc it just slightly reduces their accuracy and evasion he also puts this debuff on enemies when they counter and stuff, its quite unclear honestly what he should and should not put data it does not follow what the in game text say it should do. So that is in his favor he can simply put it out more then what perhaps he is intended to do.

Its noteworthy to point out that it really does not do much, 1 data debuff only reduces the stats very little so it has almost no bearing at all, very insignificant. However, it seems to be stack forever. It does to have a limit at least not where it matters on the enemies stats. So when you get to 10 stats or so they really lose 100% of their accuracy!

This is huge, they literally cant hit. And all attacks you will do are 100% critical as they got no evasion. Less evasion in the game equals to more chance to be critical (less in comparison to opponents accuracy), so at zero they always get critical hit.  Deathlok do become amazing if the game takes enough time... and if they cant remove debuffs.

But people likely can remove it and the game most certainly wont take so long time. But sure he is really good in Theory.  I used him on all the bosses in the last SO and on Karn and he was really good there sometimes when the game took a little while and I want to make sure all characters end the boss battle with full hp etc to get a better score all the bosses will miss 100% after a few turns so.

The general issue as well is that accuracy and evasion does matter the in the game as you avoid stuff anyway from passive effects like the cube or you miss even if you should have 100% hit chance when they are polarized etc because of stuff like the cube. Lowering their attack would have more of an immediate effect even if its only 1-2 stacks. They really have to get like 6-7 stacks until it really is noticeable and the game is likely over by then.

Then he has another typical passive being immune to a few stuff like Bleeding, low crit chance on him(he got the machine type of passive - but not immune to psychic abilities;/), not really a big game changer.

The abilities he has are however good, I wouldent say great but depending on the meta they could be very good.

What he has is basically a way to remove different type of abilities to the opponent which does fit with his data debuff that reduces stats as well then.
Well his first ability is just an attack. It actually does nothing. No Debuffs etc just pure damage but it does more daamge on the number of data they have.
Its very strong late game and decent early game, so not particular good for pvp.

But the other then are just anti something.

First of his third ability is a good quick action. It does no damage but it gives the opponent target exhausted(cant get extra turns) and neutralize(cant get extra stat buffs)
This helps him vs Tactician who otherwise would gain an extra turn from his attacks or when they attack him and as he got 2 aoe moves especially the ultimate you very likely will use being ale to turn of their tactician before doing an aoe is really solid.
Its comparable to Havok, Havok instead got an AoE attack that does exhaustion and turns of all the tactician and is then safe from his class counter. Deathlok can only do it to 1 so a lot worse if its 3 Tactician but instead he got it as a Quick action so its a lot better if the opponent only has 1 tactician. It also turns of stat buffs which means Deathlok just counters Bruisers harder. Not that big of deal really, its more that this debuff can be used on most games still to remove buffs from the agents cube, or other similar buffs which are not related to a Bruiser. In the end of the day, using this QA move on an Agent is always good, removing them from gaining more turns and general buffs. So even if they do not have a Tactician it will usually at least reduce their agent potential.

If it was a normal attack I wold say it was pretty weak but as a QA to be able to do that, is always quite good as opponent agent should have at least some QA items you can stop.

His second ability is an AoE attack that removes shield and have sheild breaker so they cant apply new shield. Not the biggest thing in the game except characters who are very based around their shields like Invisible women and Rescue.

His ultimate then instead removes all general buffs and has Boon Buster so it does decent damage if you do it when they have just put on a lot of stuff. What it means is that not only does he removes a just buffed team from like Probability field but also does decent damage to them.
This is pretty much Deathlok he hard counters characters like Dr.Strange who uses a mix of Heal/shield as he can remove both. Its an AoE removal so just like with Gambit it can really fuck it up for those characters who are all about buffing, healing etc.

So for example if Rescue was super popular again Deathlok would rule the pvp offense hard countering her and other similar defensive characters. Hes very good against all of the slow planning team or more then 1 reason. First he counters their abilities, this also include other healers like Colossus Po5 etc. But also that he counters them by his data stacking the longer the game is the more the data passive is gonna make a difference. As a result hes super hard counters all the slow defense oriented teams.

But as I mentioned earlier his biggest problem really comes from that those teams are rarely used anymore. In the games current meta he does not have much to remove. There is the occasional Invisible Women team and sure hes great then but the rest of the games he is just gonna be a slow, very slow character to get his effect in.

6/10. Ok design, a little to much remix from other characters but hes also limited to not doing anything himself except just countering others so that makes him really not be very playable.
