Marvel Avengers Alliance recap of PvP tournament 11.

So heres my tought on the end of Season 11 PvP tournament in Marvel Avengers Alliance.

First of all it was soooo easy, really. So easy you wanna know why? For some reason huge number of blasters were in the pvp. I was like oooook, free win.
Not many Blaters work in PvP defence as the AI stupid come on  people not even Thane performs that good because he rather use amber field then attacking. Hes a great character dont get me wrong but in the hands of the AI you need Ares to make it work. Suddenly I faced teams with like Thane, Daimon and Scrapper Agent.
Its only 2 characters otherwise who works in defence kinda and thats Blaster Iron Patriot and Cable as they can just raw power them trough the enemies but at a certain ratio were people have high stats you cant kill anyone that fast anymore. Especially as this season everyone and their mother was running the new item, synthetic cube. Yej, cosmic cube power for everyone...good idea Playdom.
(Btw I despise they called it the Tesserect in the movie, why not keep the same name as in the comics)

Everyone was using this item, which first of all his Fantomex passive, which is like the second best passive in the game after Ares war never changes. However, it counters Ares Passive, so quite good.
It also counters Magneto...I cant explain how much i hated missing people when they are magnetized. Anyone who have followed the games character tier strength should now how potent Fantomex is and its mainly from that passive alone. Furthermore, as it can heal and set up a sheild against one attack(mirror reality) this hard counters War Machine and most other blasters that are offensive oriented like Thane. Which of course made all blasters a free win. Well overall the new item sure make it easy to win in attack(which always was but w.e)

99% win ratio in attack, about 25% win ratio in defence at 200+(exact same items and heroes in both set ups)

Like I said I would I used Emma Frost and Magneto. Emma like every season is still the Queen of PvP. If anyone tells you anything else they are wrong. Emma is amazing like always. You do the Aoe, even if they got Inflitorors they cant counter and they lose a lot of life. You can buff urelf for even mroe damage or buff the Magneto(for sick damage) or remove Stun Agent etc. But most importantly even when you face someone with like 64x60 gold items her psychic tap can still kill team easily. She also rapes blasters as she can then set up a tap on the blaster, even when its protected by an tank Agent. YES! I know all you blaster users are like 99% Tank agents, but it dont matter shit in the game. Emma can always get a tap and then Aoe for massive damage then ur hero will die when he attacks. But even without Emma the AI will attack the Tacticians sometimes and bam, another turn.

Ok, I only played the last 3 hours and toke a break when it was 2 hours left for about an hour.
Still I sit nicely at 2000k+.
Another good reason for this is how good Magneto is.
Now with the empowered Iso you can always set up his Shield and then AoE attack. yes always AoE attack

Funny enough Mangeto is even better Vs. Inflitrators then Emma. Oh what happens if u attack Magneto he gets 1 more turn as the sheild goes away(well usually people dident even beat throught it but...)
When I faced multiply infiltrator characters I just AoE anyway. Magneto gets one more turn and easily kills one of them. Emma like mentioned just AoEs and nothing happens to her.
Only reason battles could take some time, sometimes. Was becasue of hte Cubes passive evasion saving them otheriwse I usually win at turn 1.

The conclusion from this is....sad.

Blasters dont work ( no news here)

But even worse Infiltrators dont work either. Then you just set up Magneto for 1 more turn. And you cant counter Emma or other uncounterable Tacticians anyway like Black Widow, Fantomex etc.
I knew that these empowered isos would bring trouble.

Scrapper dont work either of course as Blasters got issues no one will stop the Bruisers.
So its kinda like this agian, Bruisers, Tacticians and Generalist is the class you can run.

Agian this is probably a huge effect of that Playdom dont test stuff. It really feel like they just put in stuff with no thinking at all. First of all the biggest thing in PvP execpt some overpowered isos is that the cube is sickly overpowered. If you dident get it,,,,,good luck wining.

Secondly the isos...some are clearly breaking the balance even harder then it was already broken. And some clearly dont work as intended. My favorite is the Splash one for Blasters. Normally splash in games  does a % damage dealt, but if for example Thane uses his Quick action that does ZERO damage, it still deals low damage to everyone if it splashes,,, actually it deals around the same damage as if his first attack splashes. So splash in this game seems to instead be set to some kind of arbitrary damage based on the characters level(my guess) and not how strong the attack is....(also dont get this dam iso, it does like 2k to me guys with 31k hp its really insignificant).

I mean just look at this screen

How can one not see that overlap. Its like 50 overlaps in one small screen.

I dont want to go into fine details but come on, if they cant even make that(image above) work before they release stuff. Dont expect new stuff in the game to ever be balanced.

Also btw dotn get Demon set as how much removal there is. Also the new item that was the PvP reward hard counters the Demon set so.....yeah I dont know why the rerealse it right now. That set was godlike when it was new at season 2-_- And then the stun part was godlike until stun got removed from the game.

As now with the Agent also have 1 iso(new inf suit) everyone is Stun immune. And I really doubt that the meta will go away from this. But it would be interesting to see if it did.

Lastly... no Spiral image. I usually post the image of recruit as it can bug for some people.

It Crashed for me this time while I was receiving the rewards-_-

FPS Design Assualt

Assualt

Class: Knight

Knights are the fanatic elite warriors of the Christian faith. They are always willing to go in first and fight the heathens. The knight are extremely heavy equipment and can take many blows before they go down. They can block off ranged attacks and they have different team-gadgets which will support their allies in offensive tactics.

Primary Weapon: Spatha

The knights primary weapon is the sword Spatha. Dealing High damage with decent range.
The Spatha injures the opponent and causes them to bleed. Taking low damage over 10 seconds.

Unlockable upgrade 1: Cruciform sword

This upgrade enforces the knights believe in Christianity with a cruiformed sword shape. The sword is actually a good protection for the wielders hands. Because of this the Knight can attack faster but the sword deal lower damage.

Cruciform sword, deal less damage but the knight has higher attack speed.

Unlockable upgrade 2: Long Sword

This sword has far longer range then the spatha but it is also much heavier and the wielder loses more momentum if its blocked etc.
The long sword wielder can reach longer but of the cost of attack speed.

Unblockable Primary Weapon 1: English Long Axe
Same as Berserker’s primary weapon.

Unlockable Primary Weapon 2: Flail

The Flail deals lower damage then the Spatha but it can twist itself around protection that the opponent is using. The Flail used correctly will hit over shields and over barricades.

Note: The knight/berserk actually has the option for ranged weaponry by his secondary weapon. However, I did not make sense to me that the first secondary weapon would be this so I added unlockable secondary weapons for this class.

Secondary Equipment Shield:

Templar starts with an Heather Shield. Which could have different cosmetic upgrades (DLC). The start one I would say should emphasise their Christian faction.

Berserker starts with the Round shield. Which also can have different decorations etc.

Secondary Weapon: Shield Bash

The Knight hits the enemy with his shield. Dealing Moderate damage and pushing hte enemy away.

Unlockable Secondary Weapon 1: Shield Ram

The knight charges(short range when it can be used) the closest enemy. Dealing low damage, its a way for the knight to take in distance from ranged opponents.

Unlockable Secondary Weapon 2: Shield Throw

Heater Shield does high damage  but requires slightly more throwing time and are harder to aim with.
They have a big dispersion in accuracy.

Round Shields

Round Shields does moderate damage, they are easier to throw then Heater Shields and are easier to aim with.

Shields can be unequipped on boat sides to protect the user and his allies. Creating a small wall on the side of boats. At any time the user or any other of the assault class can pick them up.
This wont have much effect if the user just take of the shield and then stands around on the boat while enemies are shooting at her/him. Then its for the most time far better to keep the shield on and use it to block. However, if a Soldier/Fighter (Engineer class) has built a siege weapon the Knight can use it, then placing the shield will add some extra defence(As the Knight can’t block while using the weapon).

I mainly wanted this feature because it will look good with the Vikings who are know for their shield walls on their boats. This feature will be slightly annoying when people unlock other shields and want to keep that specific shield or if they have picked up a special enemy shield so most users probably wont bother using it. But I think it would be a really nice feature of for example the first stage on the single player campaign for the Viking side. The stage would be that the Vikings are storming the shoreline and then the user will start the game by being without a shield, the user then takes of a shield from the boats side and run unto the shore. This won’t interfere with different shields as the user will not have any unlocked.
-This is mainly just a feature I will think be nice in a historical regard to the game.

Gadget: Shield Block

The Knight user can use the shield to block of incoming ranged attacks. Different shields are different heavily and are easier/harder to block with depending on their weight and block area.

Shield can be disarmed or destroyed. By Barber/Youth or Soldier/Fighter

The Knight/Berserker can pick up any dropped shield on the ground. This include both allied faction dropped shields and opposing side shields.
Dropped shields stays on the ground only for a limited time. This to avoid that knights/berserker will be able to pick up shields far to easily at important battle points (e.g Conquest points).

Shield block works different depending on what shield is equipped. The Knight/Berserker starts with the user decided shield which the user decides by changing her/his secondary Weapon. The user can also as mentioned equip other shields if she/he picked up another shield, the user will have to know the difference of each shield to be effective on the battlefield.

Note1: This system will motivate the user to play more as she/he will get to test out more experienced users shield and see how they affect her/his secondary weapon and block.

Note2: The shield secondary weaponry and gadget is the biggest difference between the fractions, small difference but still the biggest compared to any other class. However, I do think it will keep  the symmetrical game balance of the factions as this class can and will pick up the other sides shields. Furthermore, Later unlockable shields would be for example a Kite shield for the Berserker which would be very similar to the Knight’s Heather Shield. While the Knight could unlock for example a Targe which would be very similar to the Berserker’s Round Shield.

Team-play Gadget:  Barrel of Wine(medic kit)

Monks they have brewers so of course they carry a barrel of wine. Drinking the wine makes allies forget about the injures and they can keep fighting.

Barrels can be destroyed by enemies, if that happens they destroyed barrel will soak close standing people in alcohol.
E.g an Archer(Viking Recon) could first snipe the barrel to then use fire arrows on the soaked Christians.

Unlockable Team-Gadget 1: Battering Ram

The knight can place on Battering ram. This Battering ram can be used by the knight wiht one ally or 2 other allies (without the knight using it) to destroy weak walls, to destroy doors etc. The Battering ram can also be equipped on boats so they can ram other boats dealing moderate damage to that boat.

Unlockable Team-Gadget 2: Rally the troops.

The knight can give inspiring leadership calls to increase the movement speed of himself and close allies for a brief time. This team-gadget can only be used once every 5 minute and last for 30 seconds.

Depending on the map battle or location on the map the Knight will say different calls. For example:
Defend the gate.
Storm the Brigde
Drive back the Heathens.

-I was thinking on having Vikings with the classic Horned helmets. But as that is historical incorrect I think they should look something like this. Still the Horned helmet and more evil looking probably is more appeal for the common gamer.

The Berserker is the heavy front liner of the Viking Army. They go in fast and they go in brutally. They can take a lot of damage, block of attacks and inspire their allies. They are heavily experience and have seen many wars before.

Primary Weapon: Dane Axe

The Berserker’s Dane Axe. Deals Higher damage then the Knights Spatha but only deals a very low bleeding damage.

Unlockable upgrade 1: Glaive

The Glaive deal lower damage initially but instead has a moderate bleed damage over time on the enemy.

Unlockable upgrade 2: Pole cleaver

Higher range then the Dane Axe and increased bleeding damage but far heavier to use, the user suffer from slower attack speed.

Unblockable 1 : Viking Sword.

The Berserker’s first unblockable is the Viking sword....yes it sounds very unimaginable I cant find another name of them. They are evolved from the spatha and are basically spathas. And they are called Viking Sword.
My idea is that they are the same as the Knights Spatha as the Knight can unlock the Viking Axe.

So this weapon is the same as Spatha. But looks different.

Unlockable Primary Weapon 2: Flail

Agriculture inspired flail, will fit the Viking Army more, otherwise same as Knight.

Secondary Equipment Shield: Round Shields

As mentioned above the Berserker Start with the Round Shield but can use Heather shields right away if they find any.
Secondary Weapon: Shield Bash
Same as Knight
Unlockable Secondary Weapon 1: Shield Ram
Same as Knight

Gadget: Shield Block
Same as Knight it depend on the shield equipt

Team-play Gadget: Barrel of Mjöd(medic kit)

Berserker can also put down a barrel, but it of course does not contain wine. It contains the viking Beverage Mjöd

Unlockable Team-Gadget 1: Battering Ram
Same as Knight
Unlockable Team-Gadget 2: Rally the troops.
Same as Knight

Depending on the map battle or location on the map the Berserker will say different calls. For example:
For ASGARD
For Odin
Defend the ship

FPS Design Engineer

Engineer

Class: Soldier

Soldier is the all round man on the battlefield. He is a professional warrior who has spend his life doing battle. He has the option of several different crossbows who has lower range then the Bows but are far effective at mid range and short range battle. Furthermore he wields different maces which are effective in close combat and effective against heavy armored enemies.
The solider is also a experienced in siege warfare and can built both defence and destroy the enemies defence.

Primary Weapon: Repeating Crossbow

The repeating crossbow can shot multiple times before it has to reload and deals moderate damage however it has shorter range then the Bows used by the Marksman(Recon Class)
Repeating Crossbows, deals moderate damage has moderate range and can shot several times before needing reload however reloading takes long time. (the all round ranged weapon of the game)

Unlockable upgrade 1: Smaller Repeating Crossbow.
Smaller versions require far less time on reloading as the bolts are much smaller they can be easier put into the crossbow. However each bolt deals less damage.

Unlockable upgrade 2: Boxed Repeating Crossbow
The Boxed version has a larger ammunition container and can shoot more before it has to reload. But, it then takes longer time to reload it.

Unlockable Primary Weapon 1: Lian Nu

- I toke some historical liberty with this weapon. It was invented several hundred of years before the games take place but in China, I would say at least some of them or similar designed existed in Europe. Mainly I cant find a good name for it from European countries.
The important with Lian Nu is that it shoots several bolts on the same time instead of the single shooting bolts of most others crossbow. This weapon would work like a shotgun in modern FPS games.

Lian Nu. Shoots multiple of bolts dealing the same damage as a standard repeating crossbow per bolt, but has to be reloaded after 1 shoot

Unlockable Primary Weapon 2: Arbalest

An Arbalest is a major 2 handed Crossbow, it has huge bolts which can pierce trought shields and barricades.
The Arbalst deals very high damage has longer range then the repeating crossbow, it can destroy shields and barricades and be able to pierce thought if shoot in the right angle. The weapon requires a reload after 1 shoot which takes a very long time to reload(the Soldier has to set up 1 bolt again with is quite the work).

Secondary Weapon: Pernach

The Solider uses a Flanged Mace called the Pernach a standard weapon in Europe at this time. The Flanged Mace is effective as it can deal damage to even heavy armored opponents.

Moderately Low range melee weapon. Moderate Damage and is moderately heavy to wield.

Gadget: Torch

The Soldier can throw Torches lighting wooden objects on fire, while very low damage if thrown against enemies they can will be blinded for some brief seconds if thrown straight into their face.

The Torch is the anti vehicle gadget of the game. The Soldier can use it to burn down Wagon and boats. It can also burn down barricades and other wooden team-gadgets.  And it can lit enemies who are soaked in alcohol on fire(Support class gadget or Assault Class team-gadget)). Which is does much more effectively then fire arrows as it deals an area of effect in fire damage. And burning objects take damage over time, one torch can burn down a boat given enough time.

Bigger objects of wood for example a boat compared to a barricade take more then more torches to burn down.
But bigger objects were the other user can move around in them, e.g Wagons and boats the other users can then move and take out the fire before it burns down.
-A boat in this scenario would still have taken damage and more Torches will destroy it, my idea is that the defenders can save it for the time being and then for example kill the Soldier before he can throw more torches.

Unlockable Gadget 1: Caltrop

-I haven't done this for other classes but it would make little sense if the Soldier couldn't kill horses(the games other main vehicle) effectively

The Soldier can throw out Caltrops who last for quite some time. These Caltrops works like mine fields for horses who will fall down and wont be able to be used by anyone if they run on top of Caltrops. The riders will fall of taking low damage.
If the users walks on Caltrops they will take low damage.

Team-Gadget : Barricades

The soldier can build Barricades who protect him and his allies from incoming enemy fire.

The solider have materials to build 3 Barricades.

-I designed some upgrades to barricades (I really like the idea of the third version but it don't make sense as a starting team-gadget)

Unlockable upgrade 1: Palisade
Pallisad ,Taller but take longer times to construct and takes more damages to destroy.

Unlockable upgrade 2: Movable Barricades
The Soldier has material to  construct one moveable Barricade.

Other players and the soldier can equip these barricades which will protect them from ranged weapons and carry it in front of them. It take 2 persons to move carry this barricades during this time they cannot use their weapon. These Moveable Barricades are good for attacking a strong point of the enemies and best used by two Knights(assault) as they can keep protecting their allies easiest if Moveable Barricade is destroyed.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BkYtRM16jiI (at 22 minutes and during the castle siege they have these moveable protection in the move Ivanhoe. They use this big wood walls they carry in front of them to protect the others from Marksman at the turrets of the castle)

Unlockable Team-Gadget 1: Builder Kit

The Soldier can build several different objects who can create new paths on the map or block of paths. They can build bridges over rivers and they can also build these bridges over specific location between ships on navy battle stages. They can build castle wooden entrance at specific locations, ladders etc.

It takes quite a long time building these different objects for the Soldier and he only has material for two constructs.

Unlockable Team-Gadget 2: Ballista
The Solider can construct Ballistas which can be used by anyone. These Ballistas are powerful siege giant crossbows. Which has a very long range and can break down many different objects in the game.

An Ballista takes very long time to build, the soldier only has material for one.
Ballistas are fragile built as they have been built in the middle of a battle. An Archer(Viking Recon) can take them out pretty easily or if they are shot by another Ballista or if they are Torched etc.

Later upgrades of Ballista
(maybe I put to much time designing on the Engineer)

Would be for example instead of constructing a Ballista the Soldier would construct a Scorpio. Which are like small Ballistas, so lower range and lower damage but because they are smaller the solider would be able to build them inside boats and on top of wagons etc. Meaning they would be have more of an utility use

Class: Fighter

I was thinking the fighter have a similar appearance to the Berserker but a little less armored. How this Larper looks is pretty spot on, but but with a Crossbow and Flanged Mace instead of the spear and the Sword.

Fighters are very experienced Viking Raiders. They are strong and has good equipment they are very formidable. Especially as they focus more on tactical warfare and siege weapons then their more offensive team mate the Berserker.

Primary Weapon: Repeating Crossbow
Same as Soldier
Unlockable upgrade 1: Smaller Repeating Crossbow
Same as Soldier
Unlockable upgrade 2: Boxed Repeating Crossbow
Same as Soldier
Unlockable Primary Weapon 1: Lian Nu
Same as Soldier
Unlockable Primary Weapon 2: Arbalest
Same as Soldier

Secondary Weapon: Shestopyor

The fighter uses another version of a Flanged Mace the Shestopyor.

Which are slightly longer then the Pernach used by the Solider. They take slightly longer time to attack with but have a little more range.

Gadget: Torch
Same as Soldier
Unlockable Gadget 1: Caltrop
Same as Soldier

Using the Caltrop will be more effective for Fighters then soldiers on many stages as the Christians often starts out with horses( as Vikings did not carry with them horses often)
While the Soldier will have more use of Torch against Vikings who often have more boats.

Team-Gadget : Barricades
Same as Soldier
Unlockable upgrade 1: Palisade
Same as Soldier
Unlockable upgrade 2: Movable Barricades
Same as Soldier
Unlockable Team-Gadget 1: Builder Kit
Same as Soldier
Unlockable Team-Gadget 2: Ballista
Same as Soldier
