Marvel Avengers Alliance: Best Team PvP Season 17. Guide for best characters for PvP. Review Avalanche

So this is old classic Avalanche I have actually always liked this version more, which is weird as I am mostly a strong purist when it comes to not following original canon

Avalanche or Lance as he was called for the most time was just a much more interesting character in X-men Evolution then in the original comics. In the original he just a lackey to Magneto, some random guy with earthquake powers. No personal motivation or any real background story that was ever fleshed out. Not that Lance as a super deep character but he was more of a character.

In Marvel Avengers Alliance he was like the old comic just a henchmen. And his storyline of turning to join shield made absolutely no sense, clearly just a lazy way to get another playable character into the game made by rehashed old villains no one cared about. If some people did not spend time to farm for his lockboxes I would not be surprised.

Gamewise his very straight forward and actually a decent character.

The first thing that should pop in your eyes is how good his third ability is, well one way to look at it. Is that his third ability is his one and strong ability but its so strong it easily boost him another 20% or more into the tier list. It Generalize everyone, not as good as giving everyone Disadvantage, were Disadvantage would have given them debuffs countering their class. It also gives exhausted so people cant use quick action and its a freaking quick action itself!

Thats huge, relly huge it also gives a minor thorn mechanic(attackers taking damage) to your team, dont amtter much but that is also just another +++ on it.
One of the best moves in the game. Quick action, to throw 2 great debuffs. Oh yeah its also subtle so they cant block it..just wow.

Then the rest of...course typical playdom is a lackluster.

His passive on the surface is really great. As he uses a lot of grounded moves which makes snese as he is a mutant who can cause earthquakes he is weak towarsd all flying characters etc. He then have a passive which causes a debuff; Grounded, Avalanche was the fisrt character to have this but the next character released right away aftrer him Groot also got it.

It really sounds good at first, a free debuff form passive that helps him and his teammates so he could be a combo with other ground attackers. The problem is, its a luck based, a chance that it happens. So while it can be quite effective and it do make all attacks have a chance to deal some extra damage, so its not useless or anything like that. Its still very unreliable.

E.g "oh a Magneto better ground him". That cant be done, Groot can do that. He got an attack with grounded. Avalanche can hope he hits him with Grounded or that someone else in the team does. Its better being able to actively controlling when you can or cant attack someone immune to something. Then having to wait for it to happen.
If the passive was something like, all character is grounded. No damage but just a constant debuff, that would be a lot better.

Avalanche second ability is a weak attack but its a remover, so its an ok ability.

His first move is an opportunist attack that will cause several random debuffs but also don't deal much damage. (More then the second one)

And then his ultimate exploit the number of debuffs from opportunity, its a really strong attack as its also build up by his second passive which becomes stronger and stronger over the time passing in the game(He gathers seismic activity based around him and allies being attacked and attacking). His ultimate and second passive is basically just how Black Bolt works. (Black Bolt instead stores ambient sound from all attacks to do a stronger ultimate, so they are pretty much the exact same thing). And just like Black bolt this is shit.

This means is that he is a very slow character. He can remove some stuff and wont do much damage until turn 2-3. Probably after turn 3. He might or may not attack flying characters and have a huge issue vs them alone in a typical last stand 1v1 fight, its a huge problem that his strongest and second strongest attack are both ground. He literally cant damage a character like Magneto(as Magneto got shields to prevent his second attack to damage  him) unless he gets lucky with his passive.
The passive do have a high chance to trigger so its not like he auto losses right away. But again its about taking time, hes a slow character. Way to slow for pvp.

Bottomline is that Avalanche has a very good quick action ability and thats about it.
