TO be honest I am quite indifferent about Cannonball, most of the new mutants never really intrigued me and his placement in the Uncanny avengers did not really matter.
Funny enough its the same in this game. Cannonball is nit the worst character but not the best either. He is actually quite hard to pin point, he is somewhere in the middle. On a personal note I would say hes one of the hardest character to say how strong he is + no one plays with him at all. I have seen him like 2-3 times at most and I don't know anyone who played more then like 5 games with him then went and did some other team.
One reason could be because hes a Blaster. The class absolutely fits him lore wise but is the weakest defense class in marvel avengers alliance.
First of all he basically don't have an ultimate instead its just a quick action move were he gains another turn and puts melted armor(removes defense stat) one 1 target.
This is horrible!
Really horrible, he already got that as a Blaster vs Bruisers and he gain a buff after attacking or being attacked by a Bruiser, bruisers are also very common. Meaning his ultimate is almost none existing.
Pretty shity, his best move his his shield. His second ability which makes him immune to most damage and his passive that gives him extra stats when he is alive last makes him a strong 1v1 character. He also gains extra buffs avoiding with his evade passive, similar to Scarlet witch etc but better. So his passive are all right
His damage is good even great some times.
Hes a great 1v1 character. Good and dealing high damage against 1 target and as mentioned stronger when hes left alone.
His third ability is an aoe, that both removes follow up attack and counters effectively removing the class effects of both scrappers and infiltrators not to shabby. But that is also his only utility. Hes very limited, removing counters don't mean much when most strong team runs stealth and psychic attacks etc; attacks that wont get countered anyway. Winded (removes follow up) is better but not only strong vs a few teams.
The rest he can do is just strong damage to one character(note that the aoe does almost zero damage).
Very limited but hard to kill and strong in a 1v1 situation makes Cannonball be some type of mediocre character who wont see play but could work in certain teams.
The real problem ,excluding his limitation and lack of utility with him is the major flaw in the sheild. Because, he could be a good character if he was immortal and would solo anyone in the end. The sheild don't protect vs Physic attacks...Bam insta lose to Emma Frost and other physic users. Also don't protect vs magic which don't matter so much but still and does not protect against damage over time effects, i.e debuffs in general. So hes gonna die even with the sheild most of the top characters.
Cannonball is a typical underwhelming new character in marvel avengers alliance. He beats all simple old characters who never were good but he cant do anything vs the top characters. Crash landing him somewhere in the middle.
