Marvel Avengers Alliance PvP Season 17 Recap

ah forgot to do this recap, lets blame Christmas also, WOT new pvp season right of the bat.

And really just one sentence can summarize this season and maybe why I haven't written about it yet.

WE ARE GROOT

Literally, everyone uses GROOOOOT. Constant Groot teams in more then 90% of the defense teams I saw it was Groot and in 90% of those teams it was specially Groot and Gamora. Which just makes no fucking sense as they don't match together at all. The only thing they got going for them is the Doom effect a bad version of mental from Emma. Otherwise shes a full out damage character that is good with other high damage dealers so she can execute people. NOT a tank.

This dam team...every dam game. Over and over again. I am not over exaggerating when I say I faced this specific team 10 times in a row when I took this screen shot. This was the 13th game in a row when I faced Groot and Gamora.

This was the result of course. Beating Groot is ridiculous easy he is not as bad as all the old Rescue teams but its the same kind of challenge, its the pure boredom a mundane test of long one can stand to beat the same team over and over again that does zero damage to your  team.

TL.DR Season 17 was super easy because everyone was using Groot in their defense team.

A final note is also...Jesus Christ why Gamora???? Use Star-Lord at least.

Quality Maniac: Hearthstone. UI Bug / issues.

Now here is something that has actually annoyed me for over a year. I have almost learned to live with it.
I mean its actually quite surprising that I know this will happen and I still do not manage to avoid it happening...maybe I just hold my mouse on the same place on the screen all the time for whatever reason.

So this happen to me all the time, every time I do arena pretty much.

So after you have paid for an arena run you get this screen. Here the goal for the user should be to get the class pick screen.

This is where you want to go.

But instead I get thrown this screen and then to the first lobby screen.

So I land here instead why? (Main Lobby)

This is why... most of the time I press the half hidden button under the "OK" button and get send back to the main lobby.

Its is frankly really stupid this is possible, for several reasons.

The user in this case start of in the blue circle and aims to move to the green and press. Its quite easy to miss click then and press the lower part of the green general area and get thrown back instead.

So this is so wrong in so many ways.

First of all,,,,WHY is the button even functional. There is no point having this button be operational at this case. The user wants to see their classes and possible go back after that screen to look at their quest log. In my example I have Priest,Hunter or Rouge to pick from. In this case I might want to go back out to the main lobby and check if any of my current quest corresponds to any of the classes.

But this button makes you go back before you even see the classes, its 100% pointless function. There is never a case you want to go back before knowing the classes. Even in a case were e.g I would have to leave because I missed what time it is and now I have to rush for work. Even in this case I would still just for a glim of a second want to see what classes so I can think about during my travel to work etc. There is just no reason this button is not disabled in this case.

I will assume it should be just turned of really and its a huge mistake its not. But for the sake of argument, lets say it should be possible.

Then its still wrong.. why place it under the other button and not make them separated like give some space in between. The more I look at this the more annoyed I get. Also thinking about this made me realize another issue with the UI.

This is not related to the back button. But I realized this when I was going over the reason one would ever want to go back, to chekc teh quest as mentioned. Why is there no quest log button here=?

Something like this, just get the Question mark icon in there so we don't have to go back each time to check the quest log. The space is kinda limited with the current design but just have the single smaller question mark then somewhere . Don't really matter so much, just seem so unnecessary having to go back to the main lobby screen. This also includes the deck UI screen could be a quest log there as well.

Quality Maniac: World of Warcraft. Pet Battles, part 3. Pygmy Cow

Ah---

I finally got the Pygmy Cow. While I have had the Barn level 3 for a long time, the milk never spawned for me and I couldn't get to the second floor. (Yes I collect pets OK, I got all the engineering pets and the Blacksmith pet for ingots etc ---

So the cow.. exact same bug as the Frostwolf Ghostpup.

Well I will admit that I was maybe a little to zelaous on Frostwolf Ghostpup as its actually pretty big in game. SO its not overally surpising that its out of its box, as the cow is also big...

Still both of them should clearly not screen tear constantly.

The cow  is actually not as annoying as the Frostwolf Ghostpup basically because it stand still. It moves very little so its more that its to big and not a lot of tearing, the dog is moving a lot and its really irritating. I am comparing them both on the same time(last image) and the dog is a lot, a lot worse.

Quality Maniac: World of Warcraft. Pet Battles, part 2. Frostwolf Ghostpup

ok this bug really annoys me because its so obvious (and also just really annoying for me eyes). Its not happening once or twice but its 100% consist with several characters battling any type of trainers or free roaming pets.

So I assume no one has simply not played with this pet.

And that is kinda weird because its the archeology rare reward (orc clans to be specific), I am assuming its one of the most played/sought after pet.

So its the Frostwolf Ghostpup, I am huge sucker or Undead Pets which if you ask me is the best type of pets. And this rare like most other archeology rare is really good.

Clearly -- Its HUGE. It should around the size of the pet to the left(Fossilized Raptor) if not smaller. It does not even fits its allocated box in the UI and its face is truncated. The kun la runt to the right si far bigger then it so its should be really small. Its kinda hard to see how big its in game but this is bug is just not happening once or so as I mentioned its a 100% each time the player want to swap pet or goes into pvp.

In pvp the pick pet screen is right away and it will look the same overly big.

Here is another example.

Here is with another character, another class etc. To verify thats its not some type of DK only bug.

And to realy show that it always happens. And I say this is a tip for QA developers I have also tested it in other slots and other set ups.

Here I back to my main character, Death Knight. But I have changed the position of the Frostwolf  ghostpup to the first slot instead and changed the other pets completely to see if it always happens.

Lastly the bug also is in the pet team UI window:

Both in the currently selected Pet(top window) and in the team boxes this pet is super huge. Its not as annoying as with the pet select screen because even do it does truncate outside it allocated box a little not as much. For me at least in the pet select it upsets me eyes a little as the screen is teared each time the pet is moving in and out of the box size.
Well I have had a long time eye injure on my left eye, which I actually see as an asset with QA and Design. Yes it hurts easily from both aliasing, truncations etc and also especially from bad color schemes, no joke e.g Red and Teal next to each other makes me left eye literally painfully watery almost instantly. Gives me a + to see what does not work in an UI :)

And I hope they can fix this as its starting to get quite annoying for my sight.

Quality Maniac: Marvel Avengers Alliance: Deadpool

oh this is one of those typical bugs that only the most trained eye can find. Nah I don't know really but truly to work with QA one has to be super into details and remember stuff. I can see the testers at playdom thinking "oh that looks fine" forgetting the context of their character.

Nothing looks wrong in this images right? I am doing the "No Holds Barred" third ability of Deadpool.

The red boxes is what is wrong.

Its about what is Deadpool currently playing as. I am using the alternative Uncanny X-Force suit (which is like the best comics Marvel ever did except Exiles).
This suit makes  him a Blaster.  Blaster class is icon is a red explosion while Deadpool's base suit is Scrapper the yellow fist.

Clearly this animation has not been changed to his alt suit.

Marvel Avengers Allience PvP Tier List Season 17. Guide for best characters for PvP

hoho the tier list was finished yesterday but I forgot to publish it anywhere;)

So this Season 17 tier list looks like this.

And here is top 20

Lets talk about Groot first.

He is at 16 which is very generous. Hes extremely popular and spot 16 should be playable, its not like any of the top 30 or so cant be played and like 11-20 should work really good in specific teams.
Its actually mainly that its very tight after the first top characters, you have Emma as super overpowered. And then Magneto and War at a very high level. With Taskmaster in between. Then ti starting to get really even in worth of a character.

However, Groot is very high because he is sooooo dam good versus a lot of characters. Like, Thing or some other shitty character like Sif etc. He is really good vs these low ranked characters. Characters who are very limited, have low damage and  no utility cant at all handle Groot.
The issue with Groot, is that who plays those characters?

Last season (I believe) I talked about how Magneto > Emma. Even do she got way higher points then him as she is also just like Groot uber good vs the worst characters. Then of course Emma is much better against a lot of characters then Groot. But Magneto hes good versus a lot of the best characters. Hes especially got Vs Emma. Thats worth like 50+, while Groot instead is horrible vs Emma.
Being weak to the best character is not great of course. But hes also weak vs Magneto, hes weak vs Iron Patriot as he will only block the first aoe wave(same for all tanks) Bad versus Kitty as she is stealth and he cant damage her at all in the start. Bad Versus both Quicksilver and Psylocke both their very common team and them each individually.
Basically Groot if the tier took into consideration of % of a character played Groot would be much lower right away as no one plays the worst bottom characters. Then he would gain another - as he is bad against all the best characters.
Groot is the uber counter to shit characters. Hes horrible in adamantium league and vibranium etc. I guess he could work in the bottom leagues.

The other news to the top is Star-Lord.

He has extremely lucky plus powers. What I mean with that is that he is always good, but can be amazing if rolls the dice correctly. With a almost instantly kill ability right away.
And to boost to the teams damage constantly with extremely high chance of granting extra turns (pretty much will happen to 1 character per turn) and a lot of debuffs.
+ He got utility like aoe fatal blow.

Then the list is just pretty staled. Overall Playdom have never been good at releasing major changes, thats one reason. The other reason is that the new characters excluding Star-Lord ( and arguably Groot) are all bad some really bad.

Morbius and Drax quickly went into the absolute bottom of the game while Blade is some obscure place in the middle, the other somewhere in between mid w.e Blade and really bad bottom.

Marvel Avengers Alliance: Best Team PvP Season 17. Guide for best characters for PvP. Review Morbius, the living vampire

Morbius I always liked Morbius character in the classic Spider-man the animated series.Well he was really cheesy with the censorship so that his hands had like octopus blood sucking stuff on them.
Funny thing is, Morbius the Vampire in the game is not based on Bleeding he don't have any moves that applies it...the consistency in Marvel Avengers alliance is astonishing.

So finally a non bleeding character and he still sucks.

And I mean really sucks.

Morbius got almost no damage output he is purely based on debuffs on the enemies which are luck based and their effect are luck based so its luck on top of luck.
I would even go so far to say that Morbius could be the games worst 1v1 character.

Morbius like Blade don't really have a 4th move as an ultimate instead its a self buff(like Blade) and his third move is instead his ultimate(like Blade).

This move his his real attack then, so to speak its his only viable move.

And its so bad. Horrible, it just stinks. Its one of those super shitty moves were its a chance, a % chance that debuff will be afflicted. Not 1 but all 3 of them. Sure all 3 are very nasty debuffs so its not like this move is bad because as long as 1 of these hit its ok, well only getting in disoriented is not such a good thing. Then its just a bad version of Fantomex third attack. Well Fantomex has a 100% chance for a disoriented debuff the attack deals like 10x damage and its stealth(awesome for Tactician). Morbius third move has zero damage, like really zero base damage. And you hav to get lucky.

But hte worst part is that all its debuffs, disoriented, mind control and possessed are also all based on luck. You can disoriented their whole team and nothing bad happens to them. Possessed will make them attack but what if they attack the tank instead of the glass cannon and do like zero damage?
So its chance that the debuffs even land and then chance that they do what you want...His buff ability is also luck based it gives a varied of buffs and even debuffs and his second ability can debuff the team by a low chance. Just wow, such a bad  character everything is luck in the wrong way,.

Its not like e.g Quicksilver who alway does really high damage and always goes first and on top of that he can be lucky and get his extra attack and then get extra lucky and critical hit with it in the perfect timing.
The difference here is that QS is always good and he might be amazingly overpowered if lucky. Morbius is just absolutely useless unless he get really lucky were well he might be awesome but the chance is just so low for everything turning out perfect for him. Once per 100 game hes awesome, not the score anyone wants to aim for.
The character design is just flawed. a character that only does something if he gets extremely lucky.

His second ability is an attack that boots his stats further and heal him very slightly.

Then his first attack is his strongest purely damage attack. It has zero utility just exploit on the weirdest exploit so far in the game, mind stuff like mind control etc. Sure he can apply that but its lucky if he do and possess only last for instantly a turn..so he cant exploit that he needs like Dr.Voodoo the only other character with that move to first set it up.

A lot of weird bad ideas on Morbius which is sad as he is a cool character. He also do have a Bleeding based passive that makes him critical 100% on Bleeding Targets...but he cant even apply bleeding himself.
You know its a bad character if they cant even synergies their own abilities.

Hes ultimate is 100% useless in 1v1, he exploits the most unusual stats in the game resulint in zero damage and again if that is to be applied in a 1v1 it means spending 1 turn doing zero damage to maybe do high damage turn 2, crazy bad. He cant control his buff he gains and can even give debuffs to himself and team mates lastly he got a passive that he cant use at all by himself instead he forces someone else to have to be in his team and yet again makes him even more useless 1v1.

Good luck making wining with Morbius you will need it.

Marvel Avengers Alliance: Best Team PvP Season 17. Guide for best characters for PvP. Review Blade

Wohoo

Another Bleeding based character.

People who follows me likely know I have a sweet spot for Bleeders, if we are talking about Laura(X-23) and excluding the rest of them.

Well Blade is actually one of the better new characters this season.

There is one thing that really shines with Blade and makes him be almost viable. His Primary attack. It reminds me a lot of Thanes great primary attack. A character that can be focused heavily on it. Well he is not as versatile or just plainly strong as Thane's Primary. But its a great finisher and a dangerous counter.

His Primary attack his is third move, which is very unusual as almost all got their first move as primary and few their second. That don't really matter just an observation, anyway it has Fatal Blow. Which means it will kill any character under 35% max health. This is of course really, relly good for a primary attack. As he will do this attack in any type of counter, follow up helping team mates if he got coordination mechanics on him etc. A huge chance to kill people. Thane also has fatal blow on his so they are very similar. But instead  having Thanes amber mechanic that took time to build up, Blade got incapacitation which is a debuff that might stun them when their turn start,,,Thane also had a stun after 3 attack so...very similar.  (like most characters Blade is a redo of X(Thane) and Y, were Y then is Wolverine I guess).
Well its great on Thane and great on Blade. Blade is also a Scrapper so he can attack with his class bonus with it. This is really good, say an enemy got 50% hp. Attack them with another attack and then following up with the primer after lowering them to 35%, really effective.

Blade also got self coordination like a few othe characters e.g Star-Lord this will make him at any time attack enemies who attack him or the team or follow up on attacks by the team. So in all a huge chance to constantly kill people.

And thats pretty much it if I would sum up Blade it would be really good passive in combo with primary attack.

And then a lot of meh abilities.

His other passive makes him immune to disoriented which is really good as its one of the best debuffs and used by the most used item the cube. But then he is also immune to mind control while a strong debuff completely unseen in the game so its not the best passive but ok. Well it do makes him really good vs Morbius.

And then comes the bleeeeding passive. Dodge chance vs target who are bleeding so he needs a bleeding them to be at his best, gg. Wont ever be good.

His first attack deals 3 bleeding stacks right away which si great but its the only thing it does and it does low damage so hardly a good skill.

Then he has to attack a bleeding target with his second ability to gain a unique self buff so he can even use his ultimate. Which for that matter sucks it jut boost his stats and  remove debuffs etc.

So he has some kind of half ass ultimate which he cant he safely use...that just really sucks.

To make him be effective you need another bleeding based character to go before him and bleed them up hoping hey wont have mystic etc nor that they wont remove their turn.

Without going into to much on Blade its clear he is yet another character who won't be good as bleeding is shit.
SO back to my previous point, he got a great primary attack. Thats it, a good passive in conjunction with his primary and an ok passive immunity defense.

Marvel Avengers Alliance: Best Team PvP Season 17. Guide for best characters for PvP. Review Gorgon

Wow Gorgon a finally a character I wold like to...? wait who is Gorgon.

Yesterday I was complaining a little on adding in Medusa to the game but just wow, wow, wow. Medusa makes 100000x more sense then Gorgon.

I was going a little hard on her I mean in her defense really she is the one that does all the talking as Blackbolt cant talk. Medusa always shows up with him and do a lot of stuff, she is super strong with her hair powers she can apparently beat most characters in the Marvel universe. Basically she get a lot of screen time every time the inhumans are in the story. She and Blackbolt did some type of Fantastic four match story for a year or so. I guess overall most inhuman fans are old Fantastic four readers.

But GORGON thats just wtf, who is that.

When someone first wrote to me they released Gorgon I was like, the Hydra bad guy?

This guy, the samurai hydra evil guy that tries to kill Wolverine once or twice every year and sometimes Daredevil etc. Other you know Hydra enemeis. In my opinion this guy is like 10x more famous then Gorgon of the Inhumans.

Gorgons(I) freaking name don't even make any sense hes some kind of Human hybrid. But not with a snake...

This is a Gorgon

So a Gorgon is the Greece mythological is the half women half snake with snakes in her hair. Who can petrify people with looking at them..you know like the most famous of them Medusa.....

So I get that marvel was going for some theme, like Medusa got the hair power which is similar to having living snake as a hair. They could have of course called Medusa, Gorgon instead but I guess Medusa do sound more feminine and Sexy and also more know I am assuming then the word Gorgon.

So OK they have this Human hybrid with a goat or something has he got hoofs etc. Hes not 4 legend like a Centaur(however, naming him centaur would make 10x more sense then Gorgon).

A Satyr

This is what he is, hes clearly a satyr another fabled hybrid in the Greece myths. He powerful hoofs that can control earth. He clearly don't have anything to do with Gorgons, he got earth powers not stone gazing or snakes and he got looks nothing like them. Hes a big muscular Satyr.

I mean really..Stan lee and Jack Kirby most have just failed their knowlegde on the Greece mythological and mix up the races or something.

Gorgon (Earth-616)

Modern Gorgon

Even more so now when Gorgon has transformed to look even more feral and furry.
Something like this.

Also the other Gorgon, Tomi Shishido. Actually got stone gazing petrified powers so he makes 10000x more sense to be named Gorgon then Inhuman gorgon.

But its niot just the name(which was a mistake I assume)

But how just so obscured he is. I recently watched an episode of Hulk Agent of Smash were Gorgon was in it. Gorgon used his abilities once in the episode for like 5 second and had 1 line. Then he just idled in the background into obscurity. Medusa had like 10 minutes of lines. So yeah I think Medusa is kinda unknown....Gorgon is freaking non existing. God and now the next freaking Pvp reward hero is the even less know Karnak(I first wrote Kyrak here--- not even I know these characters) who had not a single line or used any abilities in that episode. Not a very reasonable pick to have as a hard earned hero. I cant see anyone working hard to get him or Gorgon for that matter.

Interesting rant if I may say so. To me its pretty clear they most have done some mistake in researching Greece mythological stuff.

To the game character. (it really feels like I could stop writing here because no one wants to play with him regardless on how bad/good he is).

Gorgon is actually quite good. His passive buffs the whole team each round with random buffs (rising up) Then he protects other inhumans and himself from the corresponding debuffs to rising up, incoming agent trinket to be an inhuman:)

He then also can apply debuffs before attacking enemies that makes his aoe attack good as it can do a lot of stuff to them.

He is extremely unoriginal hes basically a mix between Thundra and Hogun, well and others I guess. He builds up buffs on himself and gets winded so his next attack deal more damage debuff the opponent and then try to one shot them.

This is pretty good, high base damage moves, buff or for himself and debuffs on the enemy. There is just one thing that really brings him down, and by that I mean from similar characters. Should be noted those characters aren't the top as it not amazing to have decent single debuffs, his aoe is his best move by far.
And his team buffing is nothing compared to for example Spiral. Neither is his damage its good but not amazing. All that being said he is still good what fails him is the Ultimate.

Its a really bad one. Sure it does high damage, very high damage if everything is set up properly just like so many other finishing attacks and here is the problem. This move got kick like a mule. Which means the character loses the next turn as they get stunned.

This makes no sense Gorgon(Satyr)s attack is far to weak to be a 2 turn deal sure its strong but not stronger then e.g war. Its not on Havok level at all. Not only does Havok way more damage he can trigger the build up right away and just do it. Don't take any time. Much, much better.

Gorgon has one of the weaker finish moves and it cost 2 turns, it just such a dead blow to him. At least who cares right, its just another filler character.

Marvel Avengers Alliance: Best Team PvP Season 17. Guide for best characters for PvP. Review Kang the Conqueror

NOTE: Everything said here is exactly, exactly 100% the same for Dr.Doom one of the most beloved villain who is the worst character in the game, or Kang is. Basically its pick your poison they are both so underwhelming weak its get almost funny how badly designed it is (but ends up sad instead...). Literally miles weaker then any other characters. The base issue is that he takes up 2 slots of characters instead of 1. This means the player only get 2 characters instead of 2. A lot of other game does this as well and I will say before I go into details on this, that in Playdoms defense 2 slot characters are usually useless in most games so they have a tendency to never fit in.

IF there is one character design I hate in this game its Kang's.

With very simple math. And I mean simple I can prove why Kang is so fucking bad. And I say this with 100% serious professional view. One of my expertise in game development is game combat design and first and foremost game balance design, I have just this 2 last weeks worked on balance a card game for a company. And truly, if anyone at Playdom read this,,,Jesus Christ hire me as a consult and I can fix this mess in 3 weeks max!

Kang is just wow, your guys cant do the simplest 1+1 type of math. I am not gonna bother going into Kang's abilities etc as his ridiculous lack of stats makes his skill be useless regardless unless he had like, ultimate instantly win. .... ... Like they tried to do with Dr.Doom but give it a 10+ turn timer. yeah that will happen in pvp especially when you play with the weakest team in the game, good luck surviving to turn 10.

OK if each character has value, we can get a complicated value looking into the tier list and another list that I been working on just never published a team synergy point system. We can get a good indication on a characters strength, versatility, meta etc. But lets forget all about complicated shit. And just do a very simple logical reasoning.

If a character has 1 in power, we are a talking about an average character.

Then you have the Agent who is clearly far the best character in the game with numerous passives, he/she can have like 6-7 great character passive on the same time and awesome attacks and so on. And can be customized to any class or none class. So we logical we can say that Agent(A) is higher then 1.
A>1. Agent is higher then the average character. Very reasonable.

Then we have characters like Emma Frost(E) who are broken, and she is clearly also better then the average while not being on the level of Agent as Agent is number 1.

That gives us A>E>1. Its not really interesting how exactly strong Emma is right now but we can logically place her between agent power and average character power.

Having a normal 2 decent characters, would give the player 2 in power (1+1). We ignore the unknown power level of agent, A.

That means Kang should have at least, NOTE "at least" 2 in power level. As Kang takes 2 spot he should have the average base power value of 2. Thats the absolute bottom he can be at. Then having less characters makes you take less damage from aoe, but if Kang is for example debuffed its a much bigger deal.
Debuffing one character in a normal set up, and lets say its a 50% deal less damage. That means the team does 1/6 point of less damage that round. If that happens to Kang the team deals 1/3 less damage. For example if Kang hits for 1000 and Agent for 500. Thats 1500 normally, now its 1000 as he was 50% weaker dealing 500 instead of a 1000 damage. If its instead 3 characters and they deal 500 each, one will deal 250 damage and the total daamge ends at 1250.
Without going into overall complicated details its clear that a boss type of double character will need more to be compensated then just having twice the stats.

So Kang has to be higher then 2.

Reasonable Kang should be higher then Agent as Agent shouldn't be twice as good as a normal character and Kang takes up 2 spots so he should in all fairness be twice as good as Agent to really. Gives us K>2>A>1.

This is how the game should be, Agent is somewhere close to 2 being broken but its indented as thats the players avatar and were the player can spend money to make the agent go crazy strong etc. Kang is higher then 2 as he takes 2 spot he gets twice the stats of a 1 with some really good abilities and passives etc.

This is not rocket science so to speak. If a normal character is 1 and a special boss character takes up 2 spots of a normal he should be around 2. It takes some processes to say higher how much then 2, but clearly it has to be 2. Potentially it could be like 1.9 or something very close. One could guess that not knowing the game at all. Then knowing how easy it is to debuff etc. Its quickly clear it has to be nigher then 2. But just very basic its should be close to 2. That should be anyones first guess.

SO what we want is K>2.

Reality....

is like K ≈ 1.5 at best.

Like really WTF gives??? How come up with him being barely better then a normal character. Just his stats are so dam low.

We are not talking complicated stuff like I have emphasized several times but very basic power level based primarily on the stats of the character.
I rememberer last Christmas was Dr. Doom was released and playing with him. My normal character I was using had 22000 Health, which was high for my level(coming to this later). And Dr.Doom had 29000.

29000????? Thats higher then 22000 but its not even 50% higher!!!

So I quickly saw that Dr.Dooms stats arent even 50% higher then a normal guy (Kang is 100% the same). This means that 2 normal guys got 44000 health together while Dr.Doom has 29000.

29/22 = 1.3 so 30% better.... 44/29 = 1.5 so 50% better having 2 normal guys. Stat wise. And Dr.Doom don't even have good abilities....

How the hell did they land in this mess.  Completely unplayable. I have for that matter never once seen anyone ever play with Kang. Not once, nor anyone I know uses him in either pve or pvp. Wonder why.

If they asked me what would I think a double character should have, not caring about it abilities knowing a base character has HP of 22000 I would say around 50000, knowing how Marvel Avengers Alliance works. At least 44000 and then some more.

Now they have given them 2 turns, so they can punch twice as hard in the regard of attack power then I guess. So like they can still only have 1 in attack but its 1 x 2 so its fine. Well if we ignore characters like Quicksilver who also have 2 turns and punches for like 0.7 or so and then do 1.4 damage so if you also have Omega Sentinel(same as QS) you get at least 2.8 in damage and so on and so on.

Their stats are atrociously low for taking up double the space.

So in the game is something like 1.5>K>1 which clearly don't put him above 2 other characters at best.

All that being said, if we introduce more elements into this and make it less simple. We have that the Agent, power value A. Is higher with a team. Agent got a lot of passive like coordination etc which are better with more  team mates alive. This means that A actually is based on the number of alive N(normals). Especially stronger if both are alive.  So a little more complicated value would be. Basically;
If Nalive == 2
 A = A+X

X being unknown increase in value.

A is higher valued if its 2 team mates. This further makes Kang useless as he is always at best 1...

Then a lot of characters are better if synergies together. So for example Emma is great with Magneto or Phoenix etc. So Normally A>E>1. Is also then
IF Teammate == Magneto
 E = E+Y.

Ok so we don't know the value of X or Y. But we do know that its better having them not having them, we can of course actually get the data and get a very good measurement of X/Y but this is just like earlier super simple logic so we do not need that.

What it gives us is that a normal teams value is N( using N instead of 1 s its not equal) is higher with more people and so its the agent so N is not worth 1 actually but something higher then 1.
So N>1 and agent is even further better with 2 N alive so, A>N>1. And Kang is still just shit.

Kang is something like A>N≈ K>1 in a team game.

Roughly estimated Kang is as good as a normal character. He as a little higher stats but as he lowers the value of A and he don't have an extra Y factor like a N has he is barely higher then N. Extreme examples like Magneto or Emma is much better then Kang actually in that case its easily.

A>E>M>K>1 That is of course a lot more complicated and not  base logic to come to this conclusion.

But without going into Kang's abilities.the meta etc. A>N≈ K>1 this result shows how absolutely what a joke he is.

Ye Kang wont be Conqueroring anything any time soon.

Lastly, I just want to say story wise how absoutly little sense they made when they made him playable also..ok Kang somehow joins to stop the incursion or whatever I guess.

At least Kang has been recently interesting in the comics with the whole Apocalypse twins storyline.

Marvel Avengers Alliance: Best Team PvP Season 17. Guide for best characters for PvP. Review Ka-Zar

I really don't think there is much to say about Ka-Zar and why he is not a good character.

Just 2 days ago I wrote about Drax. There went over why Bleed skills suck. And Ka-Zar is yet another character stuck having bleed moves.

Heres the short points:

  •  People got way to much removal
  • Many, many uses mystic so you cant apply bleed turn 1 (if your agent can remove mystic is still luck based then to get your agent to move before the others)
  • Characters are immune to bleeding, can reverse it,can dodge etc. There is a lot of stuff that can go in your way
  • The pay of is not good enough as you get hard countered by teams with to much defense vs it.
  • Lastly, it just takes time to prepare up. Especially if the character do not have a good bleed spreading ability. PvP goes fast so that wont work.
Well Ka-zar is not as suuuuuper limited into bleeding like Drax is but he instead got a mountain of other issues.

Ka-Zar actually got one of the worst tank skills in the game(if not the worst), not just a bad tank skill but a really bad one.
There is a bunch of different activated tank abilities (a difference from passive tanks like Groot,spider-man etc), e.g Captain Americas sheild block, Red Hulk's Bulwark etc.  Because Ka-Zar don't get more tanky using it. Cap got a passive block chance which make him take a lot less damage. Rulk got a life drain which makes him restore some of the health he loses tanking. Then other characters like Spider-man got increased evasion so he avoids many attacks same with Nightcrawler. And so on. Ka-Zar just get that when you activated his tank stance he removes debuff on him. At that specific time, if he would turn immune to debuffs during it. That would have been something, now hes just a sitting duck that counter attacks. Horrible, truly horrible tank skill.

Then he has 2 classes like the warrior 3. And just like the Volstagg he got a shitty set of 2 classes. Warrior 3 in general never got anything good out of having double classes except then if the agent can give them both their class bonuses right away. Thats the only way they work. Having 2 classes is much more of a liability then an asset.
Especially when the 2 classes don't complement each other. Its a like a typical classic Pokemon thing. You want a Water Pokemon that is also ground making it immune to electricity. Another alternative is to have a classic water/ice Pokemon as Ice is good vs Grass, that helps the water weakness of being weak to grass. But then you are weak normal fire which is fine as you water and so on(in the water/ground case you get 4x weak to grass instead) And so on.  You don't want a water Pokemon who just get a weird type combo having nothing to do with water. Ok it might work as Pokemon is a little more complex then this game with swapping and teaching them element moves not of their types and so on.
In Marvel Avengers Alliance. You want something like, Tactician who is also a Scrapper. So you can double attack an infiltrator, or a Blaster who is also an infiltrator, so when the tactician attacks him he will counter. You want the classes who gain something from being matched together.

Scrapper/Bruiser thats just a shitty combo. You are weak towards Blasters from your Bruiser class, instead it would be awesome to be Bruiser/tactician and get turns when attacked. Now instead you get Scrapper who does nothing, well you are weak towards Bruisers who gain from your Scrapper status, which also makes you on shitty tank class.  And then Bruisers has always been kind of a bad tank as as Blasters ignore their defense but so few blasters in the meta that they work, otherwise the best tank class is Generalist followed by Tactician or working infiltrator( note: not like Medusa who do not have enough reduction to work as a tank, well he is a lot better then Ka-Zar). Being both Scrapper/Bruiser is the worst tank class after like Blaster/Scrapper but that combo would at least protect the Scrapper side as they could hard kill the Bruisers, so while being bad in defense aka Tanking they would have a great offense. Bruiser;Scrapper...only thing is good for is getting high stats then attacking with a high power into an infiltrator. Hardly a good tank combo if the character is left so vulnerable. It would be one thing if he turned way hard to kill during his tank round and then he could kill an infiltrator after taking some attacks and he would counter decently strong and damage people etc. But he just dies right away now....
Playing with Ka-Zar is ignoring his third ability for 90% of the games.

The only thing he got going for him is that his ultimate is decent.
